Mystery seeds and Chinese LED's

what kind of stretch you'll get after the flip depends on the strain I really like your get in there & do it attitude and make adjustments as you go I'm shut down for now but had 2 tents going both leds I'll be starting at least one tent soon I'll be doing another round of kingklonebrand candyland from clone good luck with your grow
And that's the downside with mystery seeds, no clue on genetics lol. I think I'm gonna stick with mainly LED, and maybe even move beyond my Chinese cobs eventually. For now I have several warm white versions of my 50w boards on the way so it may be the end of my blurple phase (though the veg has been great so far). Here's a shot of them from last night:20180818_221322.jpg

And a shot of my stem training 20180818_221311.jpg

I have fimmed one just to see if I miss and will train all the new growth (Pokemon theme plays in background)

I have a California light works (200w.) powered by osram diodes & a Johnson 340w. powered by Cree cxb 3070 cobs both are in 3x3 tents it takes a few grows for me to get the most of any given strain I like to get a good strain & run it until I'm tired of it I can't wait to get fired back up again

I'm sorry to hear that, ending a long relationship sucks. I hope you can get back to growing sooner rather than later, caring for these ladies is very cathartic:blsmoke:

And what's your suggestion for a seed store, if you have one

I always used attitude but was looking at Great Lakes genetics as they are US based I live close to 2 different sources of quality clones but did seeds for a long time world-wide used to be good too I think they're better known as the single seed center these days

So I decided to take a cutting of each plant today to get some clones started. I even went so far as to mark them so i know whose who when they start to sex. I also made a Mother box for whichever of these clones ends up female, or produces the most if both are (wouldn't that be lucky as hell). I used clonex and rockwool cubes to start rootings (soaked the rockwool in PH'd water first) and a shitty little bin that, in a previous life, used to grow some fungus ;)

Some questions for whoever is watching, lighting for a mother (gonna try to bonsai her): i currently have 2 100w equivalent cfls, so a total of like 46 watts real, one 2700k and the other 6000k. i know this won't suffice for long, but would four of those bulbs be enough to support a single mother in a small (18" x 36" x 48") cupboard?

also: is it worth it to have a mother plant in hydro like the rest of my system or just put her in dirt? I am loving DWC, as are the plants, but that takes up a lot of room and uses more electricity and adds more heat

Single seed center sent me a pos bean for 25$. Wanted to try them and it was a bust

today I trimmed a few fan leaves that were hugging the wall and blocking light, and tied a few secondary branches down to keep the canopy relatively level.

My clones were looking quite droopy today so I did some reading, added some water, plugged the holes in my hobo-cloner, and trimmed the leaves, hopefully they perk up by tomorrow.

And the big news!!! My new LED boards came in along with a new fan and hanging gear so project icarus is back on track. Pics and updates later tonight.

Pics as promised these are 50w 3500k lights, not blurple, and they put out a ton of light. Might be too much for my space with the cfls, we'll see. And my new fan came in today, I went cheap for now but it kicks the cap outta my metal booster fan.20180824_134114.jpg

Ok, icarus is complete! It can fit 3 more cfls in the box, but I don't think I'll need them.
25x25 inches
Each cfl group of 3 has it's own power switch for crude brightness control.
Vented out the top with a cheapass fan from amazorn that moves a surprising amount of air. It is currently hanging up doing an 8 hour run to see if the heat builds too much.

Once installed in the closet it will be ducted out the top, drawing air from the room through a diy filter

Anyway I'm super proud of it :bigjoint:20180826_134138.jpg 20180826_134150.jpg
