My thoughts on the 2016 US presidential election

I'm obviously disappointed Clinton didn't win since her views more closely align with mine, even as an establishment democrat, than Trump's. Full disclosure, I didn't vote for her since I live in CA and I knew she would win this state whether I voted for her or not, and she was the 5th person to win the popular vote but still lose the nomination.

So how did this happen? There are so many different variables we could talk about that led to this, but I'd like to talk about what I think is the main reason she lost; DNC and media collusion/establishment politics

Donald Trump created an image highlighting anti-establishment rhetoric, anti-NAFTA, anti-TPP, anti-free trade, for the poor and middle classes, for working men and American jobs, the people who've been affected the most by corporatist policy.

At the same time, Bernie Sanders was creating a populist movement within the democratic party where young people everywhere were excited and enthusiastic about participating in the political process. Then the DNC rigged the primary against him to ensure a Clinton victory. Establishment shills on the left accepted it believing that even if she had to cheat, Hillary Clinton would be our best shot at beating Donald Trump, even though the numbers didn't represent that, and she couldn't do that. She couldn't defeat Donald fucking Trump..

These people lost us the supreme court for a generation at least, they emboldened the alt-right and they ended all progress on climate change, LGBT rights, the war on drugs, the private prison industry, foreign policy, etc.

Personally, I think the people responsible for blatant election fraud at the DNC and within the Clinton campaign should be held accountable to the full extent of the law, and I'd love to see president Trump enforce it. They defrauded millions of Americans with their bullshit.

And to anyone who has given Sanders supporters shit during this election; we fucking told you.

We told you exactly what was going to happen. I really hope you learn something from this monumental fuck up you're responsible for getting us all into.

You did fucking tell us. And you have the right to say I told you so. But I voted for Bernie too. Does this give me the right too?

I did have a great time arguing with you about the effect of the DNC scandal. Good times never last.

the effects of the supreme court will set us back many decades...40-50 years. it may take that long to get back to where we were.....I'll never see a free'er America in my lifetime, than today.
I wish the damage would just stop at the SCOTUS. His campaign against the environment might cause damages that never heal. Not to mention "clean coal" (shudder).

i'm hoping a lot of the crap he spewed during the run up to the presidential election was just in order to garner votes from the right wings, and not really things that he truly believes in and plans on pursuing..
i've heard him on the howard stern show, and he came off way more moderate and even a bit left leaning than the things he was saying during the primaries, so yeah, it's just my hope that a lot of the things he said were just to get more votes.
not much we can do about the scotus though with a stacked house and senate, it's not going to be pretty..

I don't know how to judge a person other than his deeds or his words. His deeds, well, not exactly presidential material. But he has no political resume so, I guess you can pick and choose what he said. What I heard on immigration was:

Illegals out, all of them in one year, well maybe not one year, well maybe we only deport criminals, well everybody has to leave and apply for status.

Five contorted statements that would make a circus performer proud.

I have no idea what he's going to do. I think he has no idea what he's going to do.
