My thought for the day...

Good work is over-rated. Just like how saying certain things are over-rated is over-rated.

I don't know I kind of disagree..
I'd want the person making my.big Mac to take a lil bit of.pride in making my food even though he / she is probably only making minimum wage..
If you're not going to take pride in your work, go find a job that pays what you think you're worth..

I've worked some low paying jobs in my teens.. washing dishes at a local restaurant comes to mind, but you can believe I didn't do a bad
Job in doing so for the fact that I was making minimal wage..
In fact I probably worked even harder because I wanted my work and work ethic to be noticed so I could and did get promoted to a better paying job in the same place...had I slacked off, I might've been stuck washing dishes instead of being moved up to bus boy and later a server..

My $.02..

Am I lazy for not giving a shit about my work ethic when being paid minimum wage?
I wouldn't say lazy.. for me it's more of a pride thing honestly..
a lot of times I've worked harder for jobs that paid shit compared to a job that I made 5x's more money..

I think I'm picking up what you're putting down here. I'm also thinking I can agree. Simple, manual labor jobs, when tasked, and finished, seem to give one more of a sense of accomplishment, then something relatively easy like a typing/desk job or something similar.

Craftsmanship brings satisfaction to the creator, whether anyone else from that point forward, appreciates it or not. That is something that cannot be belittled or taken for granted by anyone other than the creator.

One of the finer aspects of being a craftsman.
