Yeah foil might be just a tid bit safer than paper too but its looking pretty decent for just a lil something something

Hi i have to apologise in advance as my head is up my arse from smokin today so if anything i say doesn't make sense ignore it lol. Anyway i went to my local hardware shop today and bought myself a ph and moisture meter, tried it when i got home and have the results in the pics below i also tested my nute and water mix and it was 6.8 so i'm glad about that. I have to move the C02 tubes to the top of the plant and hopefully everything will be fine.
The plants are now 4 weeks and 3 days old and are going to be nuted on monday. Heres the pics enjoy lol the first first 3 pics are plant 1 (the plant in the left pot on my first set of pics)

Hi everyone just a quick update with a few pics first off i changed the bottle i use for C02 for a bigger 5 litre bottle, changed the C02 pipes so that there above the plants (about an inch)and also added another 18 watt bulb (tube) to plant 1, it has more of a blue spectrum. When i got the moisture meter the other day i didn't realise how under watered my plants were, i got the watering sorted now and plants have really responded to it. Yesterday the leafs on both plants were drooping and i thought that they had been overwatered, but low and behold lol the leafs have really jumped to attention lol. They are now 4 weeks and and 5 days old.
Feel free to comment any advice or criticism are welcome

sorry if this is a dumb question but im new to this as well and im doing a similar thing to you, 2 plants with 2 * 18w 2ft fluros soon to be a 250w HPS ill wait until they are a bit taller.
how do you use the moisture meter? i know you put it in the dirt but what numbers are you looking for? I suppose you just keep it in the green, is this correct?
I like your co2 idea, i might use it if thats ok
your ladies seem to be a little more advanced than mine.
i just transplated mine from soil into coco/perlite 50/50 mix so i need to relearn the watering thing again.

Put the end of the meter in the soil leave it for 1 minute then check it and it should register in the green section which is MOIST.
Sound just use the tubes like i did it's quite good, there have been loads of threads written on the forum before so just use search and look for Home-made C02.
I don't wanna sound like a dick but if you wanna post your plant pics start your own thread.

Plants are now 5 weeks and 4 days Plant 1 is 9 inches tall and plant 2 is 8 inches tall, they were nuted on monday and watering every 2 days (this meter is making things so much easier thank god) anyway i have put in a new C02 bottle in with the plants and i have kept the lights 2 inches above the plants at all time Heres the pics enjoy.
First 3 pics plant 1 second 2 pics are plant 2.

Right then where to begin first off Plant 1 is now 1 foot tall and 1 foot and 3 inches wide,Plant 2 is 10 inches tall, 1 foot and 1 inch wide. Plant 2 is now called Mary!!! I went in to my grow room to water as usual about 4 days ago and could smell a touch of skunk, i checked the plant from top to bottom and have noticed Pistils growing from the top of the stem!! Sorry the pics aren't clear enough to see them i'll take pics when their bigger, So hopefully Plant 1 will continue on to become Jane lol. I nuted yesterday at half strength,made some fresh C02 and i'm keeping the lights 2 inches above the plants at all times.
Could anyone help me with changing the light cycle? is it ok to just change from 18/6 to 12/12 or should i do it gradually? any help would be great.

Just a few pics the plants have been flowering for 3 days now, Plant 1 is 14 inches tall (still not showing sex) and Mary is 12 inches and has a few pistils at the top. Like i said i will get some closer pics of the pistils but my cams shit so i got to wait till there a bit bigger. There is a stick in the pot with Plant 1 to keep it heading straight up. I have also made a ghetto reflector for plant 2 now i'm not blinded when i open the door lol. anyways heres the pics.

Why don't you try make a d.i.y carbon scrubber? i don't have one because i got a window thats always open next to my grow room anyway i've put the link below, you could always try to get one of those plug in air freshner i heard they can help cover up the smell.

Hi everyone, all right then plant 1 was a male 
so he has been cut down and thrown away. Mary now has all 4 cfl's and the floro tube above her aswell as a fresh bottle of C02 and both tubes above her, she is 62 days old and has been flowering for the past 13 days (smells sort of like pungent socks) she was nuted yesterday at half strength next week i will feed her at 3 quarter strength.

man she looks good and really happy..and rememebr plenty of co2 during flowering = bigger buds!..you'll definitely need it with fluoros

Thanks for your comments Spittn4cash & bigballin007 Right then Mary is now all in all 62 days old and has been flowering for the past 20 days, She's starting to really stink now lol. Mary is now 20 inches tall and i nuted her at 3 quarter strength on monday i will do the same next monday then step it up to full strength after that. I am really keeping an eye on the C02 and i'm topping it up whenever needed as i want the best bud i can get from Mary and like Spittn4cash wrote the more C02 the better!!!
Anyways here are a few pics, i have circled two of the pics showing where the pistils are growing from.
