Almost 3 years later from my first grow i have changed my location now and
I'm all grown up now and upgraded and graduated, did better drugs and updated, so this is what grows in my pot:

this one is buble gum feminised
View attachment 2661516View attachment 2661517
the other one is auto-skunk mass (automatic)
View attachment 2661514View attachment 2661515
and this is my improvised no money grow box
View attachment 2661513the bulb is 8w (45kW i think)

and during the day i leave them near the window so they can get some sunlight.
Any advices on how to gain a good yield with some "dependent money" budget?

If they were mine I would get a better bulb for them, a 105w cfl works fine for veg and plugs in to a standard light socket.

it's written 2800k...next time when i go to the shop i should be looking for a lamp with a higher K level right?

I think this is the best lamp i could've found for this socket as it's not like for the normal room lamps.

if someone could find me a better one i am willing to accept the offers :leaf:

For veging they say mixed spectrum of 2700 and 6500. Some put 2 x 2700 and 1 x 6500 or vice vera

Look for a minimum wattage of 23w per bulb, and 100w per first plant, 50w per extras. That is a bare minimum, more is always better.

When you see numbers like 6400k, 6500k, 2700k, 3000k, etc., that is the color temperature. Anything above 5000k is better for vegging, 3000k or less for flowering. You can mix, but make sure most are in the range you need for the function. 6400-6500k has more blue than red, and will help keep the plant shorter with tighter nodes (distance between main branches) during veg, which is advantageous for CFL. When you decide to switch to flowering, or 12/12, you can keep the same 5000-6500k bulbs running until the plants stop stretching. Keeping the higher color temp bulbs will help keep the stretch more manageable. Once flowers start to develop and the stretch has slowed, you can switch to 2700-3000k bulbs to give the best results for flowering.

Thanks a lot brother and everyone else :)

I will get the 6400k - 20W. Hope it works well

Looks like you got lots of stretch there .. get them closer to the light and stake them up with some toothpicks or something.

Check this out, this is a good single bulb that you can use throughout your grow, you just want to get about 100W (true watts) and want to get the girls close to the light as possible.

Alternatively, you can go to 1000bulbs.com, I've never ordered from there, but read great reviews.

If you're not able to see the heat measurement on the box, look on the ballast of the bulb itself, most cases it's indicated there.

What are you using for a liner? Please don't tell me it's tin foil. Best is either mylar or flat white paint. I've got mine lined with a mylar sunshade that I got at the Dollar Store. The problem with Tin Foil is that it creates heat spots and can cause burns on the plants.

Yeap...that's why one of the skunk's leaves is cut in half as it got burned I dunno if it was from the foil or the current bulb I have...

Yikes, get the foil out of there and get yourself some mylar. You can find mylar easily (at least in Canada), I went to the Dollar Store and got a Mylar sun shade for a car windshield, but you can also use mylar balloons (if you get them with helium inside, you can have some fun with funny voices) or even getting an emergency blanket from the camping section of most department stores.
If you don't want to use mylar, you can use some flat white paint which you may have lying around the house.

I will look for some mylar tomorrow at my local shop(dunno where they sell it in UK).

The problem is that the house is not mine so I don't have any working tools...I will find a way to kill that foil in order to improve the yield ;)

thanks for the tips brother :leaf:

hey Red, at B&Q they sell a reflective silver barrier with polystyrene backing that would normally go behind radiators to reflect the heat back from the wall, I have lined my pc box with it and just stuck it with an all purpose spray adhesive (bostik-fast tack). I would fill ur pots up a little more and yes also raise them close to the lights. good luck and happy growing
