My Re-vegging Journal - any input is welcome

Im in the process of harvesting my first grow. I grew 5 plants total, 2 "Nurple" (both male), 2 Oasis (females), and one PPP (female)

I waited too long to clone mainly bcuz of financial reasons but now that I've got everything under control I plan on revegging my best female which was the PPP plant in order to use her as a mother and take clones from her. I will use this journal to document my progress. I need everyones help on this one since there arent many how-to's on the net about re-vegging.

Here she is prior harvest:

since then I have read a few FAQ's on re-vegging.What I've learned is that you need to:

1.)Harvest the top 2/3 of the plant, leaving the bottom 1/3 in tact

2.)Cut the rootball down to a smaller mass

3.)Re-pot the plant into fresh soil

4.)cut the plant down to just above the bottom node

5.)The plant is to be on a 24/0 light cycle for the first two weeks, then lights will be cut back to 18/6.

I will still be using my CFL's to reveg, the plant is currently under 6 26w CFL's, hopefully by the time I take clones I will have my HID.

My plan is to feed the plant as normal, I'll start feedings with plain water from the humidifier (which is pretty high in N and P) until the plant looks as if it is hungry, then I'll begin feeding at 1/4 strength and get progressively stronger each week, using my miracle gro (15-30-15) ferts.

I'll be back to post update pics with progress.
I really need the help of you experienced growers on this one, Im counting on you

I am wondering about the stalk that is bare the top 2/3rds.

I wonder if it would help, hurt, or not make a difference to cut it down to remaining growth level?

NO GROW

4.)cut the plant down to just above the bottom node

I am totally curious to see how this works out for you.
Very curious...
:blsmoke: Heya Greyskull, its good that your interested. Keep an eye out for my updates bro, you know how fast these plants grow! hopefully we'll all learn a lil something from this little experiment.

I heard it takes a hot minute to reveg. Don't give up on this project please!
wassup SmokerE, I've got no rush with this op..This plant is definitely worth it.

The thing is that I only vegged this plant for about 12 days and then it went to flower so I wasnt able to clone, I would just order some seeds but I'd rather not lol...my friend said I was lucky to find this one seed in the oz he gave me, and that one seed turned out to be a female! how lucky was I?
:joint:
Did you make/design this?? If so how and what did you use??
its a shoe box..well actually it had boots in it, thats why its kinda big.

I went around the house and found extra light sockets from old lamps and wired them together, cut out holes on the side of the box, stuck them in, and attached the shoe boxes to the top of my rubbermaid lid using screws.

I have 2 of them side by side on one rubbermaid lid, one side has 6 sockets, the other side has 3 but I left space to add more...I ran outta sockets:roll:.

it works surprisingly well...well it did for my last grow. I flowered 3 plants with 9 26w CFL's and got some nice looking buds.

imo, you should elliminate four of those cfls. maybe even five. the mother needs little light while going through the reveg. once the weirdo new shoots come out, put all your lights back.

lol I see U a hater already, but its coo lol..
I chose to grow using CFL's (1) to keep the cost down and (2) to keep this grow some what stealth. If u want larger buds and plants i'd recommend an HID.

that plant is actually pretty mature, 12 weeks old, been flowering for 9, but I harvested in sections, so half the plant is already harvested and those are just a few buds that started off about the size of an AAA battery.

I cant only have one light bcuz I have 7 seedling in the growroom as well, but I will unscrew 2 of the lights bcuz I dont think they need that much light right now, and once it starts growing back I'll probably use all 9 of my CFL's. Thank you for your help and suggestion kp

the plant that i regreened took 3-4 weeks to shows signes of new growth.....but when i did it i didn't remove any rootball or put new soil.....i also know that plants that re-green produce the best clones......

I read u r supposed to do this bcuz you removed so much growth from up top. They say If you leave the root ball in tact the plant will absorb too much water and cause the stem & branches to get really soggy and sometimes rot.

I did it also so that I could take my plants out of a 5 gallon bucket and put them into 2.5 gallon pots. since I have those seedlings in there now I need the extra space.

Whats was so different about the clones you took from the re-vegged plant as opposed to ones from one going thru its first vegetative cycle? What made them better?

was that last pic after start the reveg?
yea, today is day 4 of 24/0.. so I took the pic yesterday on day 3..my bad:roll: , I probably should have mentioned that, but the plant still looks the same as it did when it first came off of 12/12, except the buds have gotten a little bit larger and the trich's are starting to turn amber. The stem is starting to stretch too, I'll post a new pic in a few days for a comparison.

One thing I noticed is the soil is staying moist a LOT longer than what I was used to in flowering. I assume its due to the smaller rootball and the fresh soil. This concerns me bcuz I dont want any mold or mildew forming in my grow room:cuss:

Now back to watching :weed: :peace:
