My plant is way too tall.

I have one plant that just keeps growing, at this rate it will be all the way to the ceiling in a few days I can not move the lights any higher. I am 4 weeks into flowering, the other two are not growing taller just growing buds. The tall one has two other tops that are flowering nicely. My question is could I just cut the top off of the tall plant? Would that hurt the lower branches?

try taking the very top of the plant bend it carefully so u dont break it and tie it to something off to the side that way when it keeps growing it will grow sideways very nice technique if u do it right gooood luck dude hope all works out

yeah or try this same way but pulling each branch in its own direction.

I have done that a few times. Now the stem is too stiff, I can bend the very top but even if it stays that tall it is still a 10 inches or so taller than the other two plants. The top just doesn't look like it is doing very well. All of the other lower branches are growing nice white hairs, the top has a few but not as many as the lower branches. If I could chop the top off I could make better use of my lights.

supercropping is your answer... bend her down and around tie her down... remember its just a weed.

if u do that it will snap the stem and it will go to plant heaven........try choppin off what u think will be enough room til harvest but make sure ya keep a close eye on her

stop what you are doing immediately!!!!!! and get this shizznit called Bushmaster asap, it will turn your upward growth into outward growth. They use it for rotogrows and such, so get some and then you can stop worrying. Use it on your tall plant, not your normal height plants. Then just raise the other plants until they are at a satisfactory height from the light.

if you want to keep the top in and it wont bend knuckle it this is where you flatten out the stem with your fingers by pinching it then push it in the desired direction in a couple of days the plant will have a knuckle where you folded it.

DO NOT USE BUSHMASTER THAT LATE...I don't know what the bad effects are opn it..just that they are bad. I've been told that you're pushing it by using it in the 1st week of flowering...and you're in 4th. If anyone has used it that late please speak up....

to truly answer your question....yes,you can top it back....would I do that?....no...I would lightly crush the stem at least a foot down,maybe 18 inches depending upon branching,then pull the top over and tie it.The top will turn back to the light.....if your light is really hot(test with the back of your hand)then topping may be the answer...if it is going to get too hot that close,then top it....I had one in my current grow that completely outgrew the light....I snapped her neck,and laid her over 90 degrees....I have used this technique many times with no ill effects

so preetty much just train it like a Scrog or such. That sounds better to me than using chemicals to shorten the plant.

yeah,its not Lst,but you get to keep the top...and definetly better than chemicals IMO

Thanks for the info guys. I bent it over about a foot from the top last night, bringing it down to the level of the rest of the plants. The top has already turned back up to the light and it looks healthy.

lol...check out my journal dude...I snapped 2 tonite,,,1 of em easy,one pretty hard bout 2 days ago...both healthy...btw...I will never tell you to do anything I wouldn't do

Careful with Bushmaster! I heard of mixed reports.

This plant stretched a lot, I would seriously consider taking a bit of the top of. It'll stress it, but constantly bending it will stress it as well and the way it stands right now will make it hard to finish this plant.

Ummmmmmmmmm wrong it will not kill the plant and wont kill the branch even ... It's a common way of keeping plants down in height ,The branch will grow a nuckle where you snap it and keep on growing ,I have personally done this plenty of times with nill effect thats detramental to the life of a plant ....
