My plant is 15 days old and the stem is about 1.5-2" in height, and it has 2 small leaves and starting to grow a couple more. Im using one 26watt CFL at 24/0 Any reason why my plant is growing so slowly? Ive seen pics of plants that are 15 days old that are like 10x bigger than mine. I was giving it tap water but yesterday i smelt the water and i could smell some chlroine, so i flushed the plant with some filtered water. Thanks

the leaves are fine, just had a little too much light on them for a day. I lowered them a little bit and it fixed up the leaves problem.

i'm no pro.... in fact i'm only 22 days into my first grow, but your in the right place to talk to the pros. how far away is the bulb? what are the pot size? and watering schedules, temperature, air flow the more info the better the diagnosis.... i was also told if using tap to let it sit out at least 24 hours befor giving it to your plants to help get rid of the chlorine... mine sits out about three days first... any way me telling you what to do is the blind leading the blind but you'll get some good info... :peace:

thanks for the reply damn aint nothing left, I tend to water it every other day so the soil is moist but not drenched. But after finding that my tap water had so much chlronine i flushed the plant with clean water. So hopefully that will help. The plants probally not getting any good ventalitaion either. So during the day ill move it so itll get plenty of air.

hey man, first thing, you need to post some pictures. They are really the only way to get some solid feedback. Also, give a little more info about your situation. You said your ventilation might be a problem? is it a closet grow? what's your temp? PH is a big deal with plants. you want to keep your water's ph around 6.3 to 6.7 (you can buy a little test kit at any hydro/garden store for like 5 bucks). Also, CFL's are kinda weak, you can definitely grow pot with them, but it helps having a lot of them. add a couple more to the mix. They should also be only a couple inches away from the plant. For the light times, I prefer having my plants on a 20/4 or even a 20/6 light schedule. Plants need a break from the light too. What kind of dirt do you use? Any nutes? i'll be on again later if you have any questions. Trust me, once you begin to read about how to improve your plants, it's a down hill cycle of upgrades.
