my outdoor grow

hi
here are some pics of my latest grow,it started out indoors but i didn't have time to tend it so i moved it outside,2 of my plants share a massive pot with a couple of pumpkins and other plants for cover, there's about 300-400 litres of soil in it though it's not full, there's 2 plants under it which have been pollinated so producing seeds, and there's 1 in a 3.5 gallon pot that was revegged after my last harvest and is like a little bush now
i do have a couple of questions though, how much taller will the big 2 get during flower?they are around 4.5 - 5 feet at the moment and i really don't need them too much taller, also i believe they are starting to flower,is this about the right time for that?given we still have just under 14 hours of light here
any info will be much appreciated

Stef looking great. Very think. Cant wait to see them flowering. Look mostly sativa though you should not be to worried about them not finishing as your area may be a warm into Dec I am guessing.

thanks man, don't know what strain they are but i know it's good weed as thet're clones from the last grow
here in uk we can get frost anytime from middle of october, but i allowed for that by leaving 12 inches from the top of the plant pot empty, making a canopy well above the soil so should be good

Their was a bacteria called ICE MINUS that a professer Steve Lindow developed at the University of Berkley in California that limits frost production which is caused by bacteria on the leaves. I have spoke with him in the past and was planning on using it in a fertilizer I was helping develop though he tells me the EPA is a headache and a half regarding licensing.

Here is a sample from....Testing The Future

Frostban and ice-minus were both created by deleting natural genes, not adding new ones. Lindow and others discovered in the 1970s that certain strains of Pseudomonas living on plant leaves promote frost damage by producing proteins that serve as nuclei around which ice crystals form. Using genetic engineering techniques, they removed the gene that directed production of that ice-nucleating protein. The hope is that ice-minus bacteria, sprayed onto young plants, will crowd out the ice-nucleating strains and give their hosts a few extra degrees of frost tolerance. Despite the struggle over their release, frost-retarding bacteria are almost universally considered harmless.

Perhaps in Britain it may be able to be used. He was nice enough to allow me permission to test it though do to mistrust in the manufacturer and my current lack of funds the project is currently at a standstill.

that's a pretty cool read, though not really an option as i struggle even just to get decent weed fertilizers round these parts,if i can't buy it off ebay i can't get it basically

It looks more like a shrubbery than evil weed. I wish I could keep my plants up front instead of having to hide them. Yours are beautiful.

thanks again for the comments
tweetybird,it aint so much decorative, more so camoflague, though the pumpkins do look good, wish my weed grew so fast and big
crazychester,i really hope it does look like a shrubbery as i have a school behind my garden and they started back today so don't need it getting spotted, plus there's been a police helicopter buzzing around my area for most of the afternoon, don't want busted this far in
and rascalone LOL but heh i know what you mean, thanks man

well been a week since i posted pics last, they're now starting to form buds and they've gotten a little taller but not too much thankfully, found loads of tiny holes in some of the top leaves, had a look at over 500x magnification through my microscope but couldn't see any bugs or mites so not sure what was causing it,removed or cut in half all affected leaves and there doesn't seem to be any more, just keep my fingers crossed
i've also included a couple of pics of the plant i moved indoors, she's lookin good too

well things are moving along nicely, plenty bud sites now, though the weather is kinda worrying,we've had night time temps as low as 4 degrees centegrade here though thankfully only a couple of nights so far,and there's been a bit of wind and rain getting my buds wet and bending the plants, but so far all seems to be well and with any luck i'll be done in about 6 weeks,

Looking good. Will always grow a bit during flowering (perhaps another 50%?) but u should see them slow down as they flower. I can say they look lovely for a UK grow- As you know, this summer has been AWFUL so I've had no end of probs... Keep up the good work :)

heh,no peyote in the box, just regular cacti, they're so easy to keep
and thanks man, weather has been a bit crap but you just gotta sit it out i guess,i hate watching them bend in the wind, makes me cringe and i hate seeing soaked buds too,but i guess worrying wont help so i try not to,my only concern is them being eaten by aphids or mites, and i keep finding the odd blackfly, but the weather is against them too i guess,or getting a new neighbour, now that would suck, gotta say i never expected they'd come to much in this climate, just shows you heh

well last night we had a bit of torrential rain last night and my little plant took a bit of a beating,it was all flat and hanging down the sides of the pot,bit like natures version of lst i guess,it's picked up a bit now but don't think it'll ever stand as tall as it used to,which i suppose is good as there's more of the buds in the light
the big plants on the other hand look great after the rain, buds are fatter than a couple of days ago and i'm seeing the trichs appearing too
anyway a few pics
all comments welcome
thanks
