just got a new meter and it says that i need calibrating solution and storage solution. im pretty sure i need the calibrating solution but do i need storage solution or can i just dry it off and put the lid back on it?
You will need both as you have to calibrate you equipment every so often and it must be done when you first get it.Do not let it dry up or you will have to recalibrate it. You spent good money on your equipment now spend a little more to keep it working right.
Actually if it dries up you will likely end up needing to purchase another probe. I keep mine in water, rinse it off when im ready to use it, and then calibrate it as needed.

Well, it's not that bad, GT. it's true, you don't need the storage solution. I just make sure there's a little slosh of nute solution in the cap before I put it away. Still, they are high maintenance little suckers, but they can save your grow. You need to keep them calibrated. TWO different solutions required, pH 4.0 and pH 7.0.
