My New setup!

Im only using these two 55 watt input, 440 watt output. im currently running them 20/4, i intend on adding a normal flouro when they sprout in 4-5 days. the space of my box is quite small so i intend on doing the SOG method while also topping them alot to keep em short. the box is 40"x17"x20". stealth is a must for me, moms started trippin when she found my 8week old babys.this is my 2nd attempt ever and feel alot more educated on cfl grows now. confidence is key!

1.) since cfls are weaker than most ofther lights should i run theese 24/0?

2.) can anyone recomend any tube flouros from walmart/lowes/homedepot?

you want them lights above your plants. not beside them lol.

its fine for right now, once they sprout im mounting a t8 on the lid.

your gonna want some vent holes at least in that thing. good luck.

And their not guna sprout as quick as they would if the lights were on top.

amrcngror, you seem pretty smart, you think if i threw a 2' 17watt flouro plant light would be a good additive to the light?

lol like that one from wal mart? no i personally use t5's they are the only kinda "flouros" that ill use....


it looks like you should be able to fit a 2ft t5 in there either a 2 bulb or 4 bulb.......but really that box is kinda small to grow a mj plant threw its whole life cycle, u could getem started in there n afer bout 2 3 weeks maybe u could move em.....

Your not gonna flower in this box right since its way to shallow and your gonna need at least 1/2 gallon pots.. For lights go to home depot and get a 2 or 4 bulb HO,high output, T8 setup or 4 T5 single HO tubes. They are like 54 watts each. Gonna need better place to flower though. You should mount those cfls to the lid right above where they are now so the tops hang down and the plants get some use out of the light.

Whats with you guys these days? Respect your parents and wait till you move out. She already caught you growing once, and now your going to do it again?. While you may believe differently you're not smarter than your mother, she will always be smarter and will always know what you are doing 24/7 and haunt you when she has long passed. If you have a passion to grow then get some veggie seeds and grow out doors and scrog a tomato plant

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, you said exactly what I was thinking but I have been there too so I shut my mouth.

As others already said, T5's get the job done if you want a cheap veg time.. It works and it works rather well. The reflector on a T5 setup gets really good penetration to the lower leaves and helps with full bushy growth. Your gonna wanna toss those bulbs really soon once there a week or 2 old. t5's are also very low in heat...

why are you worried about your mom finding out ? How old are you ?
When you start to flower , they will start to smell like cat pee .

Yeah the box won't last long. To help with the light spend some time and wrap the box with some aluminum foil.

growing bud gets costly better throw mom some money her bill will be 50 -80 $ more a month just running some fluoro's cfl's i started last year if your just growing to save money good luck i thought that too . lol but i also have no luck
