My New Set Up. First LED Grow

Well here is my new flower room set up. I know some people dont like LED's but the truth is, you get what you pay for :weed:. Plus with supplemental cool and warm fluorescents, this plant is getting fat really fast. This is only a little ways past the 4th week of 12/12. If any of you guys are looking for a simple and cheap way to grow this isnt to bad. I dont have to spend money on air conditioning, noise reduction or even smell reduction since one plant is just fine with me =).

A good air circulating fan is all i require. Vornados are good, but like 50 bucks. The LED light itself is a tad pricey too but $350 isnt to bad for a growlight that lasts for like 10 years hehe. I could easily fit 3 more plants under there too.

Im pretty sure i was vegging for for at least 6 weeks from seed. with 3 transplants, the last one was tough tho heh. I didnt know what supercropping was till just recently unfortunatly. I wish i could afford to have more than one plant in flower at a time but i dont have the money for ventillation and odor controll hehe. This is my first grow with side light sources and its turned out amazing.

Iv found it helps to turn the plant 1/4 turn every day so that all the nodes get some light lovin too :D

Hey bro, great test run with the LEDs! Im a grower/breeder always looking to the future of growing and genetics and i love to see others push the limits! Good work and looks like she loves her envirnment! Peace brotha, SENSI

i've got about the same setup minus the sidelighting. can't wait to see what this ufo does in a small space
I would totally recomend the side lighting as suplement for an led grow. Iv got fat nugs popping up all over that plant. I estimate that i'll have just as much bud from each lower brach as i have on the main cola for setting the lights that way.

Nice job. What brand light is that. Looks similar to mine But definitley not in price! Mine was a lot more! Lol. No supplemental lighting in my medicine cabinet. On my third ever grow and loving my LED. It's performance has been top notch IMHO! Good to see another LED user on here.

There's an industrial supply warehouse near where I live, so I bought an industrial vent sized sheet.. 12" x 24" x 2".. or something like that.. was 10 years ago. I then cut the thing in half making 2 12" x 12", making sure to tape the open edges not to lose the stuff. I then cut a square out of the top of a rubbermade container, and mounted 1" doweling as a frame around the opening. I then laid the filter in, and used duct tape to seal to the doweling frame. Cut a hole in the side of the tub and mount a 6" muffin fan with vent hosing, then put the lid back on, and seal with duct tape. Simple, easy-assed filter. I even had the fan on a dimmer switch so I could turn it down quieter. :)

I've even read where some use those "cat odour crystals".. they clean like carbon, but are washable and reusable when they need changing.

Cheers............

Thanks dude, i got that light from ProSourceWorldwide. Its only a 90W but yeah its working great:D . I hate when people talk shit about these lights, the DO work. And the money you save not having to buy equipment to condition the air, and never having to replace another HPS bulb or ballast is far beyond worth it.

I use vertical flouro with LED overhead as you do. You can put the flouros 1 inch from plant, helps in flower to have them real close.

hey i dont no any1 who has done LED so i got a question i already got a 400w mh/hps but would like to get a little more light in my box without alot more power or heat and dont really want to use cfls so basically could i use that 90 w led along with my 400w hps/mh and if i do should i put the 400w up top and led on the wall like u have ur cfls so it gets the sides of the plant or would it not be worth it?

If your gonna keep your HPS i would keep it at the top, and set the led to the side or at the top as well just angled towards the plants:-P. Its worth it youll see faster growth and a significant increase in potency. An HID light is used by itself for just sheer budding power, but they do lack a few very important wavelengths of light. With an led suplement your gonna have some sick buds dude.

thanks man think ill have to pick one up with the money from my next harvest i mean 300 bucks aint that bad when a 400w ballest is 160 and a good hood is like a 100 and a hps bulb is 40 so really thats 300 right there so i mean it seeems like a good way to go gonna pick up 2 of them one for me and one for my buddy

You should put some mylar around it/on the walls to reflect some of the light onto the middle of the plant. From what i know LED has less light penetration atm than HPS

Yes a very good point! youll want to maximize the light output. Mylar is the best on the market. If you dont have any tho, you can put your plants next to a white wall and turn your plants a quarter turn once or twice a day.

There are also really nice grow tents out there. One of which i'll be buying with my next harvest=)

I just realized dude, the cooling fans are on the top of the light so it wouldnt be good to mount it on or even very close to a wall. From what iv just tested it'll be better utilized at a good 45 degree angle:weed:

yeah man i seen the fans i wasnt gonna just put it on the wall like a smoke detector but ill will find a good way to mount it on the wall but have good airflow build a mount or something for it
