Hi everyone, I just finished building my 10ft x 20ft 6000w sealed room and wanted to share. I was growing in a 10ft x 10ft 4000w sealed room but my air conditioner was oversized and my temperatures and humidity swung all over the place. I did 3 crops in my 10ft by 10ft room and had some good harvests but, I knew I could do better if my climate was more consistent so, I built a bigger room. Anyways, I really wanted to share my new room, get some feed back and answer any questions you guys might have. The picture was taken just before watering normally their not in rows.

Equipment used:
two ton air conditioner
1000w digital dimable ballasts
ushio opti-red bulbs
grow star shades
two 70 pint dehumidifiers
50lb CO2 bottle with a grozone controller

Nutrients/media:
I grow in COCO
I use flora series by general hydroponics as my base
I use Terpinator, Massive and Root builder by Green Planet as my additives

Thanks for looking!

Nice.

What strains?
All Chemo. I did two previous trial grows with a combo of Master Kush, Green Crack and Chemo. Chemo was the winner but Green Crack was a close second. Chemo was a much heavier yielder then the Green Crack however, I felt the Green Crack was a higher quality product.

I wanted to say thanks for the positive feedback! I posted on a different forum and there was a lot of hate with no constructive criticism. Reading your comments is going to make my day. We put a lot of work and effort into these room and having people bash you for something your proud about sucks. Thanks again.

The Green Crack is one of my favourite smokes. I totally recommend it. I just found it to be a light yielder.

Beautiful setup, jealousy at its finest over here. What is Chemo and how did you acquire it? Don't think I've heard of it but hey, I don't get out much.

Chemo is a cut of chem91 or something right? There is also chems sister. And a few more chem strains, that I know of.

Chemo is a very nice strain.

People were hating on this grow? Fuck em

This is a great grow.

How long are you going to veg?

I know their are lots of rumours surrounding this strain. I know one of them is that David Suzuki helped develop it at the University of British Columbia to treat patients suffering from chemotherapy in the 70's. I personally don't believe it. From what I'v read, its a heavy indica that helps with nausea and appetite loss. Its a couchy stone. Clones are provided for me so I'm not sure where they come from? I have the option of a few other stains but Chemo has worked the best for me. I would like to try the green crack again. It was such a nice smoke.

I know right! I'm over here all proud and happy with my new set up and people are bashing me left right and centre. I'm all for having a conversation about my methods vs yours because thats how we all learn to be better growers but putting people down isn't going to help anyone. So, thanks again for lifting my spirits.

Im done veging actually. They are 9 days into flower. I vegged for 5 weeks.

I just moved to hydro. Your room is clean tho. I like that.

I have experimented with veg and 4-6 weeks is ideal to me. It gives your roots enough time to establish to support heavy flowering.

I'm about to run 8 plants under 2 600 with a 4-6 week veg in a 4x8. Once again I'm in hydro and might not need that long. I run the same base in veg and flower. I use additives also in veg and flower. I finding feeding a 1:2:2 npk ratio during veg helps establish roots.

Don't take forums so serious. Haters. I have people tell me crazy shit on here all the time. Tune it out.

Welcome to Riu.

Small steps and you'll get there eventually. I started with a 400w in a closet about 4 years ago. HAHA, funny you should mention the room thing... This use to be my bedroom! My old 10 x 10 grow room is just to the left when looking at the picture. I decided I wanted to expand so I switched rooms. My bedroom is now in the 10 x 10 and my grow room is in the 10 x 20. Oh the sacrifices we make.... haha Who knows, by next year I might be living in a trailer and my current 10 x 10 bedroom might be a veg room! haha

How comes no reflective stuff on the walls to reflect the light ?
Iv read that white paint is just as good and I find reflective stuff taped all over the walls messy. I still need to paint that plywood white I just havn't gotten around to it. It was also my goal minimize damage to the room itself.

Nice looking canopy management .

Questions please:

Why not air cooled lights (hoods)?

Light movers?

Why that vertical bulb orientation?

What was your average yield with the 4K flowering setup?

Looks good,

A~~~

Thanks! These are great questions. Ones I should have asked myself before setting this room up.

Why not air cooled lights (hoods)?
I was worried about CO2 loss and the cost associated with filling my 50lb bottle. Now that I think about it, I wish I went with air cooled hoods. The money I would save on a/c probably would have made up the cost of filling my bottle plus more.

Light movers?
The celling is hemlock that came from a single diseased tree that was on my property. Because it was diseased, it has a really unique look to it thats irreplaceable. I didn't want to ruin the celling with light movers.

Why that vertical bulb orientation?
Honestly, I took advice from a old school grower that I shouldn't have. He swore by these shades and had great results. If I could go back I would go with a different shade all together. Definitely something thats horizontal. I'm going to switch my shades after this round. The take up too much head space and make hot spots. Could you recommend anything?

What was your average yield with the 4K flowering setup?
On average I did 6lbs. Personally I consider 6lbs from a 4k room to be average. Some people say this is way below average and I should be doing more like 11lbs.
