lol, i hear you brother
What's that for?
Helps pop old seeds
Promotes Seed Germination
the 1 chrystal tsunami seed got roughed up in the sandpaper jar and then tossed in water.
no action on the chronic or blue satelite yet
I have several 90s purps seeds and older seeds from my dads collection that I got when he passed away. I use 180 grit sand paper and lightly scuff the seed too before you soak it. It helps tremendously and use gibberellic.
I have seeds that are over 30 years old and pop them. But they have also been stored in a wine chiller set at 43° and 15% humidity constantly for the last 10 years or so.
awesome, waiting on my gibberellic...
chrystal tsunami sank and sat for 8-10 hours.
in a root riot now
upgraded my seed /sandpaper jar to 100 grit for a little more bite
still no action on the chronic or blue satelite.
to make things even worse, none of the 3 pre-98 bubba's i just bought are coming up. gorrilla glues planted at the same time are in peat/perlite already and growing
so the blue satelite has been in a root riot since last tuesday. no action.
the GA3 should be here by thursday, so if by that time there is nada happening with the blue satelite, chronic or chyrstal tsunami, i will take the remainder of my blue satelite seeds and treat them this time.
anyone know the recommended amount of GA3 to use? and menthod? i know its not much.
GA3 came in today, so the last of my blue satelite's went in the fridge for overnight.
Fingers crossed, I tried popping 2 out of the 5 key lime pie's from burning bush nurserie's and no go even after I scarified them, so I picked up some GA3 but it arrived to late in my season so next round I will find out if it's enough to do the business. I'll also try that over night in the fridge trick.
Did you get the powdered GA3 or liquid.
100ppm to 150ppm is a good starting point then more or less depending on results, Vaders got a vid on youtube ( popping old seeds with GA3 ) also here's the chart that came with mine
i got powdered.
mixed up about a 125ppm
about to drop my blue satlelite seeds in it.
3 of the 4 blue satelite seeds have sank.
the pre-98 bubba seeds i have are not old, but since the first 3 did not pop, the next 3 will get the GA3 treatment. went into the fridge tonight.
I recently popped a ten pack in rooter cubes. No soaking the seeds, just right into the cube, moistened to the level of a wrung-out sponge and stored in a Tupperware container to maintain humidity. All 10 came up healthy and strong. I'm happy with my results sprouting seeds in root riots so far.
since that question was asked, i also had all 3 of my gorilla glue seeds come up strong. used same basic technique. moistened to wrung out sponge and put them in a mini greenhouse.
3 blue satelite beans in root riots, 1 in rockwool, fingers crossed
3 pre-98 bubba seeds into the GA3 solution.
pre98's have sank...
waiting, waiting, waiting
put the remaining chronic F2's in the fridge
Haha found your Thread....
Cant wait to see if the GA3 works on your Seeds.
