My little experiment

Well,here it is...First thing you should know about me is that if I can build it,usually I will...Naturally,the light was the most expensive item...400 watt HPS...all sunlight system parts....pots are 3 gallon trash cans,2.00 apiece at walmart...why,you ask....21 of them fit perfectly in my closet,which is 22"x81"....SOG anyone?....well,not just yet...First I had to learn about inside growing,and its a lot different now from when I used to mess around outside.
First,seeds....got some bagseed from a christmas sack...hey,that was pretty good smoke too...so thats what I started with...wound up with one good female(my avatar)...and I have started new seeds every three weeks.
My first female,vegged for three weeks,then placed under flower....but more on that later...for now,let me get you guys some pics

Well,now for some of the basic questions...Ionic grow,Ionic bloom,superthrive,bcuzz foliar and foliar boost,molasses...and a touch of peroxide following transplant....pesticides....none...tobacco juice,a couple of times,and bug strips
Light schedule....24 for the first week...18-6 for two weeks,then 12/12....and.......but more about that later

Here's just a few random pics for ya...these are all bagseed...when I am thru playing with the setup,I will get some real genetics...this one has a lemon smell when touched,but a very low odor...looks like a good one for sog too....

Meet the twin,and the miracle gro babies

Out of my 6 females,the miracle gro babies are the largest at 52 and 48 inches....the twin is knockin on 42 inches....the phone pole is 27" and my avatar is only 22".

Ok,here is where the experiment part comes in....My first female stopped growing at 47 days flowering....sounded about right to me too,except for 1 thing....I wanted bigger buds!!!...So,I turned to self,(he is the pot grower around here,I can't grow warts)And I says "Well,Self,They aren't big enough...."
"Grow them bigger then"
"How are we supposed to do that?,They are almost done."
He just rolled his eyes and started hauling plants to the tub for a flush.so here is what we did
Flushed with ph water,no nutes,and reset the timerto turn the lights on for 1 hour,three hours after lights out....I call this the cycle...we ran the cycle for 10 days...and before you guys start screaming about hermies,think about this...hermies are caused by stress right?the normal light that they recieve is not stressfull to them,they wake up to it everyday...the 1 hour of light comes after 3 hours of dark to give the plant time to recharge,and begins a new growth spurt as the plant attempts to renew its vegetative phase....back on the normal cycle for a week now,and still no hermies...this is out of 6 females,4 different types of seed....trichromes remained unchanged,and developed on all new growth...all top colas grew 4 to 6 inches and new growth tips are flowering all over

I think you have a lot of courage to break with tradition. an am pleased it is working for you so far....
sometime back there was a link on growth hormones. a feller by the name of panhead
experaminted with a root hormone called root tone with great success. and grew da moose. this is the link... I kept it for this fastinates me to no end.

Thanx dr....got some time in these....the one thing the grow shop doesn't carry is patience

Well,here we are again...took 6 clones last night....4 from the miracle gro babies...1 from the twins,and one from my avatar....the MG babies are just switching to flower...the twins and avatar are fully flowering...it will be interesting to see how they root...this too was an experiment,as I have more seeds for all but my avatar...If it is as good as I think,then I will be reveging so I can take clones...and do some breeding....more to come,and don't be shy,tell me what you think...I need input

so the clones will root even if they're already flowering?

They will....but it usually takes much longer...I am breaking with standard techniques on this grow already,why not 1 more...lol...I am hoping the cycle that I put them through will help with the clones too,as the plants were on their way back to the veg stage...I will try for more pics tonight,the new growth is filling in rapidly....The lower leaves have yellowed considerably,so my new growth is helping pull some of the nitrogen out of the plant....all still very green,with clear trics....no hermies yet!!!!!

Awesome colas you got on those plants satman, not sure how you took clones from your avatar, I've been trying for half an hour and just got bits of monitor!!!!
