My light I just ordered isn't working!!

I was very careful when I screwed in the 600 watt MH bulb into the socket and then I connected to my ballast, then plugged ballast in, it lit up for a second and hasn't worked since..

Did i just blow my first light? The ballast continues to run and it is the only thing running on my plug in the basement.

...IMO, mh hids need about 1/2 hour to light up for the first time. DO NOT UNPLUG, REPLUG, UNPLUG, REPLUG....do the following: unplug it, and let it set for 10 minutes. Then, replug (power on)...give a 1/2 hour and the light should come on...if not, you have a faulty bulb maybe.

^yeah it takes 5 min for them to start up again because the gasses gotta cool if it doesn't work get a new bulb than if it doesn't work get a replacement you got your receipt right?

Is there a sound coming from the ballast or not? Make sure you put the bulb in straight and make sure its all the way in. This happened to me and it was just the bulb wasnt tight enough in

damn I tried unplugging/replugging back in prob 5 times. Still not working, i tried it with my other light that came with it too, still not working, it seems that the ballast fan is working in spurts?

I have emailed the seller and currently waiting for a response, still have not got either light to work so thinking it is a ballast or ceramic socket issue.

Should my ballast constantly be running or is the turning on/off of the fan a sign that something could be wrong?
