My LED spectrum

I plan to order an Apollo 4 soon. I just want to make sure I get a good spectrum ratio.

For flowering:

(4) 660
(4) 620~630
(2) 460~470
(1) 430
(1) ** 730 / 850 **
(1) White 2500k~2700k
(1) White 3000k~3500k
(1) White 6000k~6500k

** The panel has 4 "Spots" (15 LEDS per Spot), so I wanted to have Two spots with 730 nm and the other two with 850 nm.

For Vegging:

(4) 430
(4) 460~470
(2) 620~630
(1) 660
(1) White 2500k~2700k
(2) White 3000k~3500k
(1) White 6000k~6500k


What do you guys think?

Thanks to huge improvements in white leds, you simply do not need a multi-spectrum panel.

See A -51s new panel. Pretty sure others will follow suit

I would love to get another light with better reviews. But my floor space is only 12" x 12" (stealth grow). And since they're cutting hours at my job, the Apollo fits into my budget. Which whites would you recommend? I just dont want to miss any key reds and blues. I can give the list of spectrums available if you would like?

Premade panels are convenient but if you are electrically inclined, diy is awesome for micro grows. Premade panels are lucky to reach 20% efficiency, which is similar to fluoro except the cost is 100X more, literally. Area 51 might reach 30%, not too shabby but itll cost you a few bucks.

Since you are working a small area you might as well get the very best and run it soft. It would still be cheaper than a premade panel too. For an all white, the 2700K or 3000K Cree CXA 3050 at 350mA would dissipate 12 watts and about 44% efficient. If you run them at 700mA each would dissipate 25W at 38% efficient. Might be a bit low on blue but I am undecided about what is the perfect spectrum.

If you are interested in a color panel I recommend:
Red - Cree XPE red P3 bin
Deep Red -Luxeon ES EX6 bin or Oslon SSL T3 bin
Deep Blue - Luxeon ES 450nm M4R bin
Warm White - Cree XML2 3000K T5 bin

If you run the color lamp at 700mA overall efficiency is about 42%.

If I didn't know better, I'd think you all are shills for A51, the way you slag all other brands. LOL

I have no issues with my Apollo, and prices have dropped on them, so they're quite reasonably priced, if you look around.

OP, I think your spectrum sounds interesting...similar to what I've got on my Apollo8. Each of my clusters has the following: 6 x 660nm, 3 x 630nm 2 x 470nm, 1 x 430nm, 1 x 615nm, 1 x 520nm, 1 x 3000k.

@KineBoisin Thanks that makes me feel more confident about my flowering spectrum. The plants in your journal are looking good. So i think i will stick with the flowering spectrum i listed.

Anybody have any opinions of my vegging ratio/spectrum?
