Total light proof will be good for all times, even when its not dark- it will keep more light in... and keep smell down! how is that going for ya?

With the grow locked during the day I should be fine, the whole thing was stealth-minded from the start, I sealed the closet with expanding foam and everything... the bedroom doesn't really smell now, and shouldn't with the closet locked. The lock is at the bottom and is small, if you try to open it and don't see the lock it feels like the door is stuck, I don't forsee issues. If my landlord (who of course should never be in my apt) asks me why it's locked for some reason then well, it's to keep nosy landlords out. There is a spycam function on my webcam I might enable.

I am going to build an ONA/soil moist/fan bucket soon. Could use one even if I didn't grow. My only concern there is that my neighbors would probably notice if the whole house starts smelling clean all the time... have to gauge it right.

One clone is dead, I was pretty sure I'd lose him anyway. Plants grew a bunch during the dark, touching the lights so almost 3 inches in 2 days... definately responding to the light. Clones are under blue light but are on 12/12, one looks like he has a little burn on a leaf tip but ok otherwise, the one I didn't give nutes to (just water) is flourishing, I did add a little bit of 1/2 nutes but the bucket still had a half inch of distilled. I figure I'll ramp him up slowly.

If I am good at gaging early sex I am going to predict 3 fems and a male...

I installed Picasa and found all my grow pics, I want to make a video in premier. Someday... been real short on time lately since I took a second job in an endgame WoW guild. kek.

I seem to have some sort of something growing on top of my hempy buckets that may or may not be maryjewanha.

Any advice? Am I not letting it get dry enough? They have pretty low res's, the two clones left are doing well (not stressed, growing fast under 12/12 blue lights)

What should I do about what looks green? The pic doesn't do it justice... it appears much brighter under the lights. (duh)

It's all spotted over the tops of both buckets. Also is some light brown which I just thought was stain from the nutrients.

Yeah that camera really sucks. I will take a better pic of that later, only have a few hours a day right now for anything at all.

See this thread for sexing. I am pretty certain we have 2 females out of 4 plants.. though this does mean that both clones are females as well (how lucky is that?!?) still leaving me with 4.

Here's a better pic, and one of the clones.

They are doing really well for me just kindof flubbing at them. I know how to mix the nutes but I haven't been managing my calendar well on the watering so I just kinda eyeball it... one of them has been practically living off water and perliculite.

Should I start feeding them from the bottom? Maybe I should discard the top of the grow medium to get rid of the green?

Here's an updated pic of the grow. We are now a 'one sided' operation, 12x23w CFL's 6 blue 6 red and we are on 12 on/12 off. 2 hempy clones from the 2 confirmed female moms a happy grower makes!

looks nice, i like the reflectors for your cfls, did you buy them separately and from where?

Ah, the first harvest! Ganna make butter, off to get a cheesecloth.

Any major chain hardware store has the reflectors, usually with the 'work lighting'.

I purchased them separately from the bulbs which I just get in packs.

EDIT: wow, cooking it, just plain WREAKS of LAND O LAKES. I used sweet salted type, expensive! Food is so expensive now.

Doesn't smell like anything but mac n' cheese... yet. Don't really know anything except that THC disolves in fat and I put 3 stucks of butter and some water in there, and all the leaves from the plant. I guess I'll let it go about 90 minutes or maybe until the water boils off. Then I'll chill it in the fridge and maybe try some tonight.

EDIT: I guess good results, I squeezed it all out really hard until the 2 layers of cheesecloth was ripping from the force, then I put the golf ball sized thing in the freezer. Maybe I didn't cook it near long enough and I can start 'er up again but I only cooked for about 50 minutes total, maybe 3 sticks butter and a quart of water or maybe 2 until it was butter and weed.

I am high from licking my fingers. It really tastes great, not at all like a nasty bowl or anything... when it's a light flavor infused in the butter it really has a great flavor! I didn't really use bud so I don't know but the leaves have a pleasant taste that I think is quite unique.

That was just the all of the leaves from the males, maybe 3-4 oz of leaves?

The butter I made has water at the bottom, greenness untold...I don't know if I should heat it more or just cut the good off the top.

hey fiery looking good, if the stuff on the top layer of your perlite is green dont worry about it, its from the light hitting the nutes, it looks ugly but its harmless...

Life has been very sad and very crazy lately.

Here's an update with some pics for ya... got 3-6 weeks to go, T44 is supposedly done real fast which might make it the end of the month!

Should I be trimming the fan leaves off of the bigger plants so that the budding branches get the light?

The very first signs of that rusty red on the pistils? came today, have to look hard to see them. Plants have just started the maturation process... so cool to see that all 4 of them showed at once - means I've been consistent so far.

Potentially less than 2-2.5 weeks left till cut, 4-5 weeks to smokey tokey!

dont get to impatient, you said you had 3-6 weeks to go one time, then cut to 3-5. I think your gonna be better of at 6 weeks harvesting. Dont wanna harvest to early. Just when you cant wait any longer... wait a week- then harvest. Your doing very good for day 25 in those photos, your in the rewarding stretch when everyday brings new bud growth and development.

I understand what you mean on the waiting, I cut my last batch too early, also didn't dry long enough. I actually kinda made those mistakes on purpose so that I would have a benchmark for the next grow. Patience is a virtue, with those 2 popsickle sticks of my last grow it wasn't much to worry about but I would hate to screw up all this awesome looking dro. My concern is the strain... T44 is supposed to go from veg to done flowering in 44 days... I don't want to leave it a ton longer than that because I don't want uber couch lock bud.

Exciting is sure right though! I was checking the size of one of the buds right below the cola and sortof 'plumped' it with my fingers and it's so sticky that I couldn't let go right at first. Other things stick to your hands after you touch it.

I added a 300w(65w) CFL today to the middle of the 4 plants, bright as hell and really helps to fill out the environment... worthy addition to be sure. If I ever had it to do over again and redesign I would use all 300w replacements as they are more efficient (just harder to use with hoods). I have started giving the 2 dirt plants 3/4ish to full doses of MG Bloom Boster every other watering. (they just had the first full one and only the second feeding, the soil is MG though so even without extra...) Either my timing is just exactly right or they responded really, really well to it in just a couple days.

So awesome, I never imagined it would go this well... not that this is a super pro grow or anything but it's already beyond my wildest dreams, you look in there and just see bud after bud after bud. We really are in the long stretch now, they very visibly are bigger every single day.



I need to know how to finish them off, I keep hearing about molasses and other things but I don't really know what they are or when to use them. I figured that I might just do the last 2 weeks/3 waterings or so on just plain distilled with no MG. Same for the HB's. Not sure if this is 'flushing' or what that entails.

The best thing you could possibly do for your grow is to STOP COUNTING DAYS as some kind of indicator to harvest & let the buds tell you when their ready,i too grow top 44 & i'd be willing to bet you have a full month left to go,top 44 is a fast finisher but there is no way in hell the strain will be ready to cut in 44 days,no matter who grows it,its a good strain but IMO the whole 44 day deal is hype to help sell seeds.

If you chop in 44 days you will loose massive amounts of bud weight because thats when they really start to pack on the pounds like a depressed fat girl.
