My growing 1st grow :D

Just thought I'd show ya where I was, where I am. Why not.

These poor plants were screaming to be repotted




So, I did just that and luckily some stuff I ordered came in the mail today too. I rebuilt my lighting rig (there's more light coming) and transplanted to these buckets. I got my digital Ph tester and my ph up/down kit with chemical test included, and a few other things. I got a 125 volt CFL grow light. Plugged it in, it ran (buzzing) for 10 minutes then burned out. Ain't that a pisser. But like I said, more light coming.

Turns out my nute concoction was right on the money at 5.8 Ph. After watering, the soil tests between 6.0-6.4

I think I did a nice job on this custom "in-progress" rig for a closet grow

The cow pots had a 2:1 peat moss/perilite mix. I'm just kind of experimenting so on a larger scale for the buckets I mixed 8/4/2 peat moss/sand/perilite


For the record, that's not tinfoil, which I've read is bad to use as a deflector. It's sheets of press sheets with the marred side towards the lights. (more lights coming lol)

I've definitely learned some things along the way if you look close enough at my plants lol. I'm holding my own I think

If you smell the top of one of the plants in the back, it's already starting to smell like skunk

Nice grow dude! Hopefully you get them lights soon looks like they could use a healthy dose of some light! How big is the area you're growing in? Nice reflector sheild though thats legit! Also what strain?

Nice grow for your first, yea, could use more lights, pesonally a white flat background reflects better than what you're using....just my opinion....keep up the grow.

It's a corner of a huge'ish walk-in closet. There's a fan off to the side blowing on the rig, you just can't see it. I keep my eye on the temp in there. I have no idea what strain it is. I got a handful of seeds out of a bag of local outdoor that was REALLY good, so I figured if grown in controlled circumstances it could kick your ass lol.

Is there any way to try and identify it by looks as it grows... or is there just no way to tell sometimes?

looks like you got the green thumb! your on the right path dude !!! Ph nutes and high wattage cfl = Im impressed !!! get some of those heavy duty paper clips and tie them down using fuzzy sticks at wallmart -just clip them too the side of your container and use the fuzzysticks to train the plant to grow horizontal that way you can slam the cfl right ontop of them !!! This will give you like 10 main colas that all get the same intensity of light as cfls do not penetrate but like 3'' ( welcome to the dark side, lol.)this will not hurt your ladies ,looks like it does but it wont! If you let the plant get too tall then you have to raise the light -leaving less intense light for the lower part of the plant that makes 3/4 of your plant popcorn buds!! try it with one of them bro and you wont ever let your plant control you!
