My girls are too top heavy!

My 7 girls are 6 weeks into flowering and are too top heavy. The main colas go up to 11 inches long and 2.5-3 inches wide. They have started falling over as the plants are 5-5.5 foot tall.

Anyone else suffer this kind of problem?

it happens... put some hooks in the celing and tie some string to the colas and hooks... that'll keep 'em up

its always a GOOD THING when your buds are just TOO big, huh???!!!

its natural for the colas to bend a bit but theres bending and nearly snapping. some people gently bend them over and thai them to the stem and where you bend the stem you sometimes get more buds forming. anyone got more info on this method.

kinda like a late lst?

i don't see why that wouldn't work, but then i'd still tye it to the top to keep the plant from breaking...
i'll draw up a pic to show you what i mean, it'll take a couple minutes...

yeah i had a plant that was too big for my box so i tied the stems to the pot and it worked great

Good advice and illustration. If tieing it up from the ceiling doesn't work for you, you can put a stake in the pot and tie it to stake. Good luck.

true... i don't like the stake idea just cuz it doesn't seem like i should be ramming some rod through my roots... haha, those things are kinda importatn!

I'm having a similar and dissimilar problem. my little friends are very top heavy and a few colas have fallen over, one is even hanging down below. And thing is, the buds are kind of small right now, (approx 2months into flower). It seems like the stems just didn't develop before the buds did. I'll have to try something like that illustration there

Just kidding.
About 6 grows ago I had left for a weekend during flowering, it got hot and the plants dried out a bit too much. The kolas were about as big as you describe and they'd drooped all the weay to the floor (they were 5-ft tall).
I was scared crapless!
String from the growbox ceiling (and watering, in my case), and they perked up a bit, but always needed support from then on.
Good luck, though it sounds like you did a great job with your grow!
