My Ghetto Gas Station

Every time I wind up in line at my ghetto gas station I wind up behind someone buying cigarettes, lottery tickets or blunt wraps. Seems like every person in line buys blunt wraps.

Now, this is in the Detroit ghetto where everyone is dirt poor (supposedly). So I wonder, where do all the "poor" get money for weed, cigarettes and lottery tickets? And since just about all of them are on welfare, it means they are getting money that was taken from someone who very well could have had to pass a drug test to earn the money. And, those people may also work at jobs in which they can't smoke cigarettes. So, while the people paying the tab are at their drug free, non smoking job working, the welfare recipients are smoking blunts and cigarettes. One also has to imagine their time would be better spent looking for a job than getting high - ah but who needs a job...

There are things about the current system I disagree with wholeheartedly, so if you disagree with something either do something about it, find away around it, or just accept it, that would be my advice.

it's a school of thought that has long been studied because of its flaws, rather than its ability to reliably reveal the truth.

now, would you please explain how you managed to conclude that every "poor" person not only receives welfare, but uses that welfare to play the lottery, use drugs, or smoke cigarettes; how that welfare was taken from a person who would be using drugs, if not for that damn job and random drug testing? and why that is posted in the politics section???

i just think you've been having a bad day because health care passed.

let's discuss some of the immediate changes that go into effect.

the president laid them out in the speeches he gave earlier.

kinda funny , everyone bustin rick whites balls over this shit . i grew up middle class and now live alittle better then that how ever i am better then NO ONE . now what i will say is growing up poor make it easy to now even poorer people . being as it is i know a crazy amout of people from all over this state of all colors and orgins and im here to tell ya a good 70 -80% of the wefare recipients i know could do better but wont and damn sure dont deserve the money .i know a girl who has kids to boost here government income , bitch has a like new camaro, brand new trail blazer a boat and a jet ski and only has 1 of 5 baby daddys payin support and lives in a 4 bedroom hoouse with 2 car garage.i know people who get food stamps just to sell them for extra money . NOT ONE SINGLE FUCKIN WELFARE RECIPIENT THAT I NOW OF GETS IT BECAUSE THEY NEED IT OR WITHOUT LYING UP A STORM TO GET IT . i could go on for days about all of the fucked ways people have have to screw the system. are there people out there who really need it SURE THERE ARE but not as many as you think .

You said that - not me. However, it is a fact that the poor are less health conscious and has a high rate of smokers.

The point that you are trying to avoid as usual, is that a lot of people are buying cigarettes and other stuff they have no business buying with welfare money.

As stated above, you said "every poor person," not me. And yes, many people who would like to smoke a joint on occasion can not due to work place drug tests. These people pay taxes, which pays for welfare. Are you really unable to reason through this simple deduction?

Around here it is common to see people wearing expensive as hell clothes, $200 sneakers and buying fillets with food stamps - then they get in their Hummer with 24" chrome rims and drive to the liquor store to trade the rest of the food stamps for cash so they can buy weed. You can hear them coming 6 blocks away because they have $10,000 stereo systems than vibrate the concrete.

Yep, these are people in need alright.

What are you suggesting?

I agree with you there are plenty of people who abuse the welfare system, but are you saying we should just get rid of the whole thing entirely so that can't happen? If people are going to abuse it then nobody can have it?

What's your solution? I'm sure everyone here is in agreement to the problem.

Why do I necessarily have to be suggesting anything to post an observation?

But, since you asked. My grand plan would be to build well structured farming communes and assign people jobs. Some would farm, others prepare the food, others care for the elderly, etc. You don't work, you don't eat. This is the system they have in Israel and it works great. In fact, young people often live in them for a while just for fun - like a summer camp.

Short of that, people should at least be assigned jobs in a workfare system. And I would base the system more on providing actual subsistence than money. Giving money is a disaster on many levels.

Also, people receiving Government money should have to take regular drug tests. A guy with no job has no business smoking weed or worse.

I say stand up for what you believe...Next time you at your "ghetto" store just ask one of the "customers "why you buying that" and then tell them why they should not....lol...I mean don't talk about it be about it...or shut up and keep paying for it...let me know how it turns out ...

My next question to you then would be - Do you have any problem with letting someone who absolutely refuses to work die of starvation? (consider you might have more than enough food for yourself, and could share it and still get by)

I'm just curious because I think that's really what it comes down to.

man some people just dont get it , you come to any of the ghetto stores around here and try bustin someones balls about why they just bought smokes and booose with the food stamp card and watch what happens, and tell you what else - the store clerk didnt see shit! yup you heard me , where im at your food card will buy you any thing in the ghetto stores , the fuckin welfare recipients are not the only ones fuckin the system. like i said before , there are some in real need and some who are able to just rob us hard workers out shit loads of tax dollars for blunts 40s and smokes and what ever else they "need ". like the vike junkies , i know dudes that eat 12 750-1000m vikes like pez (crunch crunch) every morning just to get out of bed , on medicade and food stamps and bulllshittin the system the whole time. whatever!

Do you really think this is an intelligent question you are asking?

First, anyone would work if they got hungry enough. Second, if we were talking about a communal living arrangement like the one I propose it would actually be unethical and unfair to everyone to give food to someone who refused to contribute. To do so would be an injustice against everyone that does contribute.

I must ask though, is life really that simple in your eyes that everyone ought to just share what they have like they did when they were 4?

The people who own damn near every gas station and convenient store in the Detroit area are from a certain country that we have recently liberated. They have amassed tremendous wealth largely from the money they steal from the welfare system. I know because they are my neighbors.

How it works is a guy comes in with food stamps, they give him about .30 on the dollar and they redeem them for full value, tripling their money. Then the person blows the cash on stupid shit like payments on spinner rims that he financed at usurious interest rates from the cousin of the guy who owns the party store.

So, in the end, the people in the ghetto stays po' while our certain middle Eastern business owners (who are as obnoxious as they come) drive around in hummers acting like the world is their toilet.

Ah, but the Liberals feel so good about themselves.
