I am a member of a couple different growing forums and for some reason I hear about being rootbound way more often here at RIU than anywhere else. I think it has just been spread around here that it is terrible and spells death for all plants. I've grown 6 foot tall plants in 2 gallon pots, 4 foot tall plants in 1 gallons, all without ever running into problems. I just don't believe that being "rootbound" can cause some of the problems I've seen attributed to it. Sure you can transplant into these massive pots for your first couple grows but I guarantee after a while you will learn that it's not necessary unless you are growing actual trees LOL.

i agree with but until u actually see what size plant you have and how big it will grow then u can determine on a smaller size or larger size pot. but i di believe root binding can cause mutliple problems

Maybe you're right. I've never experienced this "rootbinding" in cases where I supposedly should have is all I'm saying. I guess better safe than sorry for the first couple of times. Doesn't hurt to put in a bigger pot. You won't have to water as much either:razz:
