My First Own Grow Journal, 12/12 from seed Jack the Ripper

Hello RUI. Proud fan of the forum here. I am a self-taught botanist, and I recently got into growing marijuana as medicine. Ive been a user for nearly two years, and I've never taught of growing until a couple months ago. Since then, I have assisted several people in their grows successfully, and this is now my first very-own grow.

My setup is:
Secret Jardin Twin Tent, 4x4 (the tent is split up into two parts, I am only using the bottom part)
400w HPS light for flowering
2x 2ft Flores and a 2ftx2bulb T5 lighting for veg
I am growing fully in soil at the moment. I built an NFT system for all my other plants since I like hydro MUCH better than soil. The reason I am using soil for my marijuana plants are personal. Out of the NFT, I am experimenting with several types of basils, lettuces, tomatoes, and sensitive plants.
My Nutrients are as follows:
Sensi Grow A and B
Sensi Bloom A and B
General Organics: Diamond Black, Bio Bud, CalMag, BioThrive Grow, BioThrive Bloom, Bio Root, Bio Weed, Bio Marine
BC: BC grow, BC Bloom, BC Boost, Sugar daddy, root riot, magical, thrive alive b-1, Olivias Cloning solution, AwesomeBlossom.
As you can see, I use very different kinds of nutrients. I like all of these products, and combined together, they make a nutrient mix very similar to the AdvancedNutrients packets.

I am growing Jack The Ripper, not feminized. I dont like my seeds feminized because I always notice a vigor boost with unfeminized seeds. In my opinion, they root faster, and grow faster throughout their lives. I also don't like gene modification, but thats a different story.

These guys are currently a week old from seed. I am going straight from 12/12 seed because I have Black Domina, Void, and Shy Girl all vegging from propagation at the moment. I just wanted some plants while others vegged.

I use bluelab guardian monitor to check pH's and ppms. I have a 700cfh fan attached to a massive carbon filter sucking air out of the tent and into the veg room. The hood also has a 130cfh fan to cool it. I use the heat from the lamp to heat up the rest of the house. Also have a fan speed controller on the fan. I will be adding a 400MH light to the veg room as soon as the veg room starts producing some decent plants.

Just noticed that those were some bad pictures. Ill upload more of the plants and the veg room on Monday. Once of the methods I use is I set the soil level well below the container level, and let the plant stretch. After stretching, I fill the rest of the container with soil so the plant looks like a tiny, well vegged seedling. This, again in my opinion, helps the plant develop a stronger stem, and keeps the root from being exposed to too much heat on the surface.

Is there a reason your growing 3 plants in one pot?

Yep. The plants are not feminized so I do 3 per container, and after 3 weeks when their sex shows, I take out the males. With this strain, I noted a 1/2 chance of females, and a 1/4 chance of an f1 hybrid female. That way I can pick out the males and weak females and keep the strong ones.

*little update* just ordered a 240w led grow light for my veg room. Should be here Tuesday/Wednesday. I am very skeptical about LED's but I'm using it for veg so I'm willing to take the risk. The reviews are great so we'll see. More pics tomorrow.

Day 9, and they are looking cool. Got total of 15 under a 400 MH light now. Hps broke on me over night so they had to sit in the dark for an additional two hours. Ordered a new bulb and should be here in a week. In the mean time, using my Mh bulb. The plants are small anyways, so if anything the mh light should help them.

Cannot wait until LED light comes. It is a 240w blackstar for vegging. After being extremely skeptical about LED's, I decided that its only a veg light so might as well try them. The reviews for these guys are great. Hopefully they pull through with their statements. I think I will put the florescent light in the tent with the hps. Side lighting.

Sorry about the lack of update. This grow just turned into an LED grow. I will be starting a new thread using led lights. Got a 240w blackstar led and a 500w blackstar led. Let's see how they do. Got Rid of 400w hps setup, and using 2ft 2bulb t5 florescent as side lighting for flowering.
