well it got up to 92 degrees last night so i deciced to go ahead and get a remote ballast so i could remove some of the heat. i got a xtrasun reflector with 6" vent, i went ahead and spent the extra bucks on the 400hps hortilux bulb. the ballast is a xtrasun also, it is switchable to the mh bulb for vegging.

i got some tiger bloom fertilizer while i was there, any suggestions on mixing would be great. or do i just follow the instructions? i'll try to search for that at the same time i try to find how high to hang the light from the plants.

i hope this pays for it self. i just want some good smoke without having to chase it.:peace:

well the girls were looking droopy when i woke em up tonight, the soil was dry so i gave them a good soaking with some ph balanced water with no nutes.

i got my new light hung, about 18" above the plants. did the hand under the light test for heat. that thing is bright, gives me a headache, like looking at the sun!!

really didn't see anything about the fertilizer, so i am going to start at 1/4 strenghth and build it up to full, a quarter at a time to 2 teaspoons a gallon.

should i cut the burnt leaves off the one or just let em go? plenty of healthy new growth is coming on.:peace:

I have my 400hps about 8" above my plants with a fan blowing directly onto the lamp and across the tops of my plants.
You will see a lot more growth at this distance but you have to keep a close eye on them at this distance.
I would recommend 12" above the tops until you are sure of yourself with your new lamp.
Best of luck with it:peace::joint:

thanks for checking in natmoon. i'll lower it a few inches in the morning when it shuts down.

the girls are looking good tonight, the water was what they wanted. the kick ass light didn't hurt any either.

with them being in a box. with no side openings, i'm going to do pics on watering days. i tried tonight but they came out all blurry. may be time to start shopping for that new nikon d80.:peace:

hey puff, they run about 1500 or so, i've been eye balling it for awhile. it's hard to spend that kind of money when i have flim camaras that will do just as nice a job. but it is turning into a digital world.

This is the camera that i use and its only 179 dollars in your country from amazon.
In my country its called an s5700 in America its called an s700 exactly the same machine though.
Takes awesome close ups of weed i think and i only just got it so i will bet it can take even better pics than i am so far.
You can buy more lenses for it as well if you want to.
Heres a link to save you 1230 dollars lol:mrgreen::peace::joint:

well i got up abit early and lowered my light. when i got home tonight i raised it again. damn things grew

i made it easier to access my plants and get better pics. they are looking great except the charlie brown christmas tree looking plant.

i forgot to tell you all how well the temps are doing, back in mid 70's for a high and 67 for a low. they are going to need alot more watering with the brighter light. i was watering every 6 or 7 days. they already need watering again. on the hydrometer it was already right above dry.:peace:

i need to watch my watering alot closer. came home tonight and one of em was drooping hard. i guess i will water every other day. i gave them some ph balanced water mixed with tiger bloom with one teaspoon to a gallon. the temps were perfect. a low of 65 and a high of 72, the humidity was right around 40%.

when i had them out tonight i had my wife sniff em, she said they smelled like mint. she has olny smoked one joint with me about 20 years ago. and she was bitching about the skunk smell last week.:peace:
