My first homemade DWC cloner

I've had a 100% success rate this time! ..So this is what the root system looks like right before I stick them in dirt, what the clones look like in dirt, and a picture of the parents (bubba kush from dr.greenthumb:weed:) ...the dish with rockwool cubes in it is part of my next project;-); seeds consisting of Afghan Kush, Blueberry, Gigabud, King's kush, Kushberry, and Strawberry Haze.:peace:

I dont use a timer for my cloner... I just have oxygen pumping in 24/7, the roots seem like they are thanking me! good luck on your cloner! and be paitent (at least 14 days)

Stems can be submerged or not. And it does not matter what your PH is when cloning, as long as the RH & temp is right you pretty uch should not fail at cloning. I use regular 8.0ph'd tap water, no nutes and i get roots in 7-10 days. But once they root that is when i start getting nutes, ph, temp all in check.

That is exactly it, clovergs99!
+ it really helps to speed things up if water temps are kept above 80 to about 85 for the high..... Adding any nutes will cause fungus, slime, etc with the temps that warm.

These thing kick ass and all I use. You can go to any medium from there.

here, mines a 49 site:
growinman-25190-albums-misc-hydro-attempt-picture805144-111508-make-few-sample.jpg

They'll sometimes yellow if you leave them in there too long without nutes--so get them to your veg area or turn that thing into a dwc...lol

Great looking buds there too!! Got a journal or are you conosidering it??

Happy Growing to you!!

Im thinking of starting a journal...I also wanna cut more holes in my cloner lid to add a few more clone sites, much like yours! well done.

those are nice clones. I got 100% success so far (10 clones) with willow tree tea and distilled water. I use my old aerogarden as a cloner. works great. I got a question, though. how long should I keep these clones in this bubbler, before moving them into flower? I was thinking when the roots reached 4" or so..

Anyone want a round #2 with the DWC cloner? I sure do!:-P ...Since I had a 100% success rate the first time with my 7 test subjects, this time i decided to take mostly light damaged cuttings only (by light damage i mean they wern't getting enough light, I normaly cut these lower branches off and disgard them) I did not change my resevoir water this round either to see if it will still be good:roll:. Here is a shot of the parents(you can kind of see there lower branches are trimmed nicely to increase air circulation). Also here is a pic of the new area for my freshly transplanted clones:weed:. any comments or suggestions are appreciated!

.....haha, right on Rexx! Hey, I make you a bet..........haha..... Those clones you just took WILL root faster and better than your other batch! The lower branches make the best clones because they have more solidly stored nute available to the leaf/roots, and also because they are just more hardy and resistant than the real fresh growth....... Dont get me wrong, you want to try to avoid the 'woody' stuff, if you can(it'll root a bit slower).
One thing about rooting this way is that the roots aren't as strong and flexable as say 'aero' cloning because they're just pretty much sitting still in the water with no variables other than o2 from the bubbles. I usually try to get them into my vegger(I am hydro) unit with mild nute as soon as I see a root or sometimes just the bumps from roots starting to form. Oh, and I saw a comment in here about water depth in the cloner: I 've always kept it full; I mean right up to the lid or almost.

Have fun!!

Those are beautiful mothers!! What are your plans for those?? What strain are they?? Are they topped?<---doesn't look like it. Do you do any LSTing?<----get out the whip and chain! haha.

Great looking ladies!!<----I 'll assume the smoke is just as great.

Those beauties are the almighty "Bubba Kush" from Dr. Greenthumb (not cheap), I haven't budded them yet (im still new to this strain), but they are next to go into the budding chamber.... I've only smoked bubba kush once before and it was the tastiest strain ive ever smoked soo far. As far as LSTing goes, I haven't tried it yet... I've topped many of my clones in the past, but those bubba trees are growing freely so far.

Right on, sounds awesome! I am going to look them up and see what I can learn. I 'd really like one more good pheno to run. I am working out an AK47(serious seed) pheno to go along side my SS I ve been running for years.

Hey, I found that other post I did some weeks back on the bubbler, if your still interested( https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/155922-4x-thai-ak47-strawberry-cough-7.html#post2097052 post #16)

Have a great weekend----I got a bunch of pics uploaded and no time to put them in my journel.....haha:clap:

well, I just finished trimming the last of my finished plants of great white shark, Armageddon, and white widow x jelly bean...:-Ptake a look! i'm expecting to get between a quarter pound and a half pound.:weed:

also WOW ph is between 6 and 7.5 man thats a huge difference... 6.8 would be a magic number if you can maintain that but 6.5 would be better for your nutes... and sorry but another thing (correct me if im wrong) but roots need air to grow. Under the DWC conditions it may be to much water for the roots??... Im interested in this post as im a DWC grower. Well done on the setup and keep at it, it wouldnt be sucess without failure.

Cheers kwaka

5.5 is what you want for rooting clones. a little more acidic.

K so now i feel like an idiot--can someone tell me what these stand for sog, dwc? and what you got is called a bubbleponic for the clones??cause i have the same thing.

sog- sea of green....basically a small field of 8-12" plants uniform in height

dwc- deep water culture or bubbleponics....roots grown in well airated nute solution.

and its a cheap aero/dwc combo if you reall get down to it. the bubbles break making it an aero enviroment above water and its basically dwc beneath water.:weed:

The only thing you want to do with 5.5PH is precondition rw..... 5.8 is optimum for all growth. To get clones to root do this secret thing: just use straight water from tap. Unless you really have some funky hard water, PH is practically unimportant to get roots. Do what you can to add nothing. Bubbles, dim/cfl light, 80degrees + on the res, is what you need......... if you add any hormones at all watch for fungus's to start in those temps----- Al B's comparisons didn't show rooting any faster by adding hormones....

Looks like a nice harvest Rexx! What was the final weight??(guess: 5.5zips-----number of the day, aye..?)

Really!? Thats interesting. next time i take cuttings im doin a test myself. 2 in rooting powder in cubes and 2 in cubes without poweder and the same deal but two of each in a bubbleponic cloner.

Totally different in the cubes........ I was talking strictly bubble cloner as is the title of this thread.......if you want to know anything about clones in rockwool check here first: https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/15030-batch-clones-rockwool.html
........and wtf is interesting about growing funk from hormones in 80+ degree water??

Im not fuckin interested in growin "funk" at high temps in water im interested in the fact you said Al B showed that clones without hormones rooted just as fast as ones wiith hormones. :finger:
