Looks like something you would yank from the cracks in your sidewalk, doesn't it? :)
We take such care in growing to get the max out of them but if they were growing wild in a field they would probably grow better by just leaving them alone.

Somebody probably said this. Give the 5 gallon pot a gallon of water till there is run off. Then only water again when the pot gets lite. That takes the guess work out.

How far away is your light?
My light is only a couple of inches away from the plant. I have two bulbs on each splitter because the plant only receives it beneficial light from the sides of the bulbs. I'm just going into week four. I have 4 - 23w cfls. and 2 - 40w cfls which are in the center and the 23w on each side.

Sunday July 5. I gave it a good bath of nuits today 1 gal. mixed. Seems to dry out fast since I put it outside in the sun. I have some yellowing on my first set of leaves at the bottom but I think that is typical. Still keeping my light schedule of 20 on 4 off. looking good.

Tuesday July 7, Man it's really taking off. Gave it well water until it ran out the bottom today and put it back up in the garden with good sun light. Seems to dry out fast since I watered it on Sunday. Some water must be at the bottom but the top couple inches are dry. I clipped off some of the bottom yellow leaves. looks good, nice thick stock. Starting to stretch. I'll post another picture later.
