my first grow

my first thread and my first grow, feel free to give pointers or advice.

grow tent, 90 watt LED grow light and 2 42 watt CFL's, coco for soil, feeding nutes a friend threw my way, home made Co2 dispenser (yeast and sugar with an airlock on top), and a home made active carbon filter (top right of tent). germ'd from seed, one master kush, one white widow, one super skunk.

lookin good. Whats the bottle in the middle? I assume a C02 thingy

they look good! it looks like you've paid some attention to them. what genetics are they? they look so bushy, did you top them?

why only 3 plants? that's a lot of space going to waste!

I'm not sure one genetics, the dispensary names were on the package they came in but I'm pretty sure I've tossed them. I did not top them, and only 3 plants because its my first grow, more of an experiment at this point.

also i forgot to add, coco for soil. I keep plenty of it around for my pets (snakes and lizards) so I figured it was easier

Damn i might have to grab one of those tents, the reflectivity in my closet isnt nearly as good lol. Does the tent have a ventilation system ??

kind of, i have a carbon filter at the top. home made, a folgers can and some active carbon from the pet store, and some aquarium filter mesh to hold it all in the can, i cut the bottom off the can and used the mesh on it, then filled with carbon with more mesh on top and a 5" fan on top to pull air through. It works pretty good and no smell outside the tent so far. as for air inflow, theres lots around the bottom of the tent.

I use dual 90 w LED's to veg. Keeps the internodes tight, (1/4"-3/8") as hell. They are excellent for vegging.....but I use a 400w HPS for flowering

Looking very good so far, keep up the good work. Can you please post how you made your carbon filter and some pics, I'm really tight on funds so I would like to make my own, thanks.

the fan is like this one but this is a USB model, you want the standard wall plug one. I drilled out the rived so it didn't have the stand on it, easier to use this way.

I used construction tape or tuck tape and rolled it up into a "rope" of sorts, outlined the top of the can, and voila, a good seal for the fan!







I was fortunate in that the vent hole in my tent was the perfect fit for a maxwell house can

it used to make aquarium filters, pet shops and fabric stores will have it.

if you are carefull you can even pull this material in half. you get twice as much that way and better airflow

Hi great setup all looking good, I have the same tent as you looking at it but I'm not using co2 but I have all 3 bottom flaps open on my tent so they will draw air in are u not to do this as your using co2 or cause the light does not give off a lot of heat, the tent is a sealed unit if the flaps are not open where is your fan pulling the air from.

the flaps are not sealed, so some air still gets in, LED with 2 CFL's produces little to no heat.

the progress so far. i planned on changing to 12/12 in 2 weeks.

so after seeing some signs of sex coming out, and hearing that i should put them into flower at around 12", i have decided to put them into flower now.

The White Widow is at 15"
The Master kush is at 11 1/2"
The Super Skunk is at 10 1/2"

Looks good. I am getting a 90w LED soon. Where did you get yours? And what brand? There are tons of knockoffs...
