my first grow box

Hey everyone! I haven't been on in quite sometime and had to give up growin last year after a my first plant turning into a male. This time i'm going to be using a grow box and want to keep it simple!

The dimensions are 3.5 ft x 2ft x 4 ft.
I'll be using a 400w hps
simple soil base
and if my measurements are correct i can comfortably fit 6 plants

because the area is so small, i was wondering if it was necessary to include ventilation in upon having a fan to oscillate the air. If so, how will the plants benifit.

as well, can i add any kinds of nutrients in while i switch over to the buddin cycle. i know that the plant needs more p & k during this stage.

thanks, gamogamo

The size of your box maybe a problem. A 400 watt hps is going to get that box really hot. Maybe a bigger box or a smaller bulb. I dont think a fan will do it.

i think they will work good. Venting will allow you to help control the temp in the box. just keep the vent high in the box. The hole heat rises thing.

My box is probably a little more complicated than you are looking for, but I'll tell you these boxes need ventilation to keep temps reasonable and plants just need fresh air. These are living things ya know?

There is link in my sig for a picture.
