OK so it is day 3. So far the one plant is showing really good signs of growth. Its leaves are much bigger then the other two. I hope it is not a male.... Which brings me to another question, can nutes help determine sex? Or perhaps additves?

They look great.

no nutes or anything you can add to the babies will make them female. Now light during the sleep period can effect sex. It can make a hermy, so be carefull.

Well i know they chemical rape the plants to make them produce femmed seeds. But that will also leave the buds toxic.

The stronger ones are useually male, but dont kill it or anything. Baby it just like the rest because it could just be growing to be a strong female, lol.

Whoa! didint see the carbon fan when I first read! Nice work on that!

How much did that cost you all together?

The carbon filter set me back about 200 bucks. Lol.... I had it for a year or so. Never used it as my first grow was raided. :( However I have a huge can fan for it and when it is up and running you aint going smell shit!

plus i will doing the ona in a bucket as well for added protection.

LOL!! Nice!

Im jelious of your Carbon filter....I was thinking of trying to make a DIY one. But I dont know. Im not handy at all, lol!

Day 4 will not include pics as progress is slow.

That carbon filter was a good investment from what I am hearing from folks. Its taking me some time to gather all my equipment. I hope that I can start to buy add ons after each flower such as Co2, new 600 w MH/HPS , Sidelights, Grow tent, a ph meter, and so much more...

I think the ones in rockwool cube have dried up I hope that I did not kill them... I cant find a damn empty bottle to use..as the ones I have all have chemicals in them. I fear for a residue to be left behind when using those bottles for just water.

Anyways I will have to do something quick , If i want a chance at reviving them or getting them to grow....

rockwool is pretty much impossible to overwater. so make sure they have enough water.

I just purchased a very similar fan and filter set up. Are you blowing your air into the filter or pulling it through? Can it work both ways? If at all possible I would like to take the filter and fan out of my room due to ducting issues. I'm hoping a I cut a vent into the top of the room and pull all of the air out into the filter. This would then pour out by my cloning room which can use the additional heat.

For me I found most of the noise comes from the air flow, not the fan itself, which isn't to loud. To fix the problem I found some insulated ducting at Lowes. Just testing it out and the insulated ducting cuts the noise by by 50% or more.

FU!K !! My cat needs a freaking Beating.... Ok look I have a huge catnip plant I am growing which still has not flowered, but I bring it inside, she doesnt care much for it.

However I go into my closet to check on my plant, and it seems that I have had a pest problem. As you see in pics below, there is nothing in the soil bag. You may see a shriveled up stem n root. nevertheless that is what remains. I suspect it was the cat and know it was her!

So one died and no signs of growth in the seeds in the cubes.

Looks like one plant is taking a little nute burn but the other two are liking it. In matter of fact, one plant is showing great signs of growth, others still slow.

This is day 4 i believe.

OK, I did not answer a couple of you guys questions. Sorry bout that.

No I am not using feeder tubes, as I wanted to try a simply setup that still gets results.

Yes the filter can have air blown in or blown out. I am not sure which is the best way though.

Thanks for your input on the insulated vents. I did not know that and will purchase those.

Wow, looks like I had a growth spurt on my one plant... Anyways I was checking water levels and it was low. Do i just add ph balanced water. Or add water then ph balanced?

The one that has lots of growth already has roots in the water. other two have not.

I am going to go to store to get some styrofoam plates that I can use to put over the nets. SO i can retain moisture and block light.

I am fixing to add bagseed into the mix so that I will have a variety to flower with.

OK so this is day 5 now.

I added panda film around the closet. So it acts like a light trap as the light is pretty bright. Although the window is already covered I just put that there because back door opens you can see the light.

I also cut the hole in the ceiling and venting out into the attic. You can see I have a carbon filter attached to a fan.

This is just a temp. set up, as I will be hooking that up to the hps cool tube when it is up and running.

I included a pic of the temps and humidty. It is quite high and I am hoping with that fan it help cool it off.

I also have a air purifier which is blowing air towards the plants.

I am debating if I should take that t5 light and use it for side lighting and then just have hps on top.

Or I can do is keep it there for now, then switch to hps and put the t5 into another area to allow vegging.

All just a thought..I am fixing to start up some bagseed in my other container. That way I will have more to harvest at the end.

I wouldint waste the carbon filter on seedlings. Its only good for so long. So Id only use it when the buds come out and it starts smelling : )

Great job so far, love the grow room!

Yea I thought about that too. it is suppose to work for about 6 mos or so.... But I am not sure how I hook it up with out the filter.

Thanks for input though...Man cant wait for these babies to be up and budding soon...

Just have a fan blowing on them. maybe crack the door a little. Dont need much just enough to see the leaves slightly moving. : )

I have a dog too.. lol a german shepard and a 18lb bombay cat

Anyways I wanted to get temps at ideal range as 90 and higher is too high. However winter is coming around corner s0 that will help keep temps down when it does drop.

Looks good, can't say for sure on the lead weights. I think there are some that aren't made of lead but I removed mine cause I thought they were fuckin with the pH and bought some oxystones which way like 5lbs and just sit on the bottom on their own.

Fair warning bout Short Rider, mine and many others ended up not auto-flowering and had to switch to 12/12 just like you would with any other plant, and got one male out of the feminised seeds. So watch those things like a hawk to see what they are doing, they are not what nirvana advertised them to be, but regardless they will still give a nice harvest just not exactly how they advertise them. Good luck
