My First CFL Grow

Hey Guys,

This is my first indoor grow, and I wanted to try one seed first, and see if I can provide it the right conditions with as little of a budget as possible.

Can anyone give me some tips? I basically took out the bottom shelf of a big dresser and hung lights off of the next shelf. I am using 2 23w cool whites, a 32w warm white, and 2 15w warm whites. I hope that for one plant this is enough light. I also have a fan going as an exhaust, and also spinning onto the plant to cool it down as well. Any tips and suggestions would be appreciated, and I will continue to post updates.

The seed is called Vertigo, and I got it from Paradise seeds in Amsterdam.

should be enough for a while, you would be better off using 55w bulbs. Less sockets for macgiver set up.

I'm currently located in germany because of work, and the biggest thing that was available at the big shops without actually ordering it was 32w, and they were like 22€, so I only got one.

next update, and a quick question... just wondering, if by the 3rd picture it's possible to see if it's a female? The seeds are called Vertigo (from Paradise Seeds) and they are a feminized autoflower, but I read somewhere that they can sometimes turn male, or hermaphrodite, and I was wondering if it is possible to tell. Thanks in advance guys!!

Looking good there man. Can't tell yet if its a fem. Take a close up pic of the top nodes, tho I can't see any caylix development yet.

fixed the pic. for some reason the attachment originally got lost. will take a picture for sexing when i get back from the office. she is growing almost 3 inches / day now, since i started watering with carbonated water. sooo crazy

Haha, yeah man! I did some research online, and couldn't get any definite facts, so i just decided to do my own trial... I googled pH neutral waters, that have a high mineral content, as well as bubbles. I found a new Volvic, which is a mineral water from a volcanic region in Europe. I watered with this water 2 times in the last week, and my plant has grown about 8 inches in these days. I don't know exactly how it helps, but I'm SURE that it does!

so yeah... i wasn't kidding. last picture is yesterday morning, and this one is from just now. i think carbonated water is the only thing that could cause such a growth spurt, but again i'm no professional, so I may be wrong...

Carbonated water is an interesting idea, good way to introduce CO2 to the plant though Im not sure about uptake through the roots. Nice looking grow you've got going. Here's to it being a female. Good luck!

Hey man I'm a newb too starting first grow with auto bubblelicous and auto cream mandarine. I know this is off topic but what kind of soil are you using? I'm growing with cfls as well. And where did you buy the volvic from?

I'm currently living in Germany, so the Volvic is from any market. It's a French brand of water that is available anywhere in Europe, (In the US you have Dannon, which if I am not mistaken, comes from the same region). As for my soil, I use a regular potting soil from the flower shop down the street, as well as a weak form of nutrients to add to my water also from there. As easy as that. And about 110w total of CFL's (all with different color-temps, so I have many aspects of the light spectrum)

Right... Well I'm off to go stock up on some Volvic!

Everything's looking amazing so far man, really nice and bushy, healthy leaves, altogether a happy looking plant. Have you considered some gentle LST work? Nothing more really than starting to bend that top growth over a little, to promote a bit more growth on the sides? Just an idea, tho to be honest, you look like you've got it all well in hand.
