My first build, first grow, and $2500 top of the line investment. Input needed.

This is an old heated debate that never gets settled, the soil guys say they like their soil grows and it tastes better, a good hydro grower finds it hard to tell the difference apart from the yield.

I agree, it is the same old argument. the hydro guys such as myself bitching to the soil dudes about speed, and yada yada. However, whenever your trying to create stability in a unstable market diversification is always the best approach.

Personally I also have always had any funding needed to build top of the line grow rooms, so I can understand this guys willingness to explore new technologies and try to make when reduce the chances of failure. This being said I always was a hydro only type person. After my research and reading on here I started doing soil, after I didn't make it to my AeroFlo120 in time and had a major burn. Having the double line of soil plants running between my 120 flo, saved my business in this instance, and allowed me to continue on with my expensive ass research/hobby/business.

That being said why not do both.
This way you have the chance of making off with more bud faster=hydro
As well as tastier bud that takes longer time to finnish but with a much higher chance of success, and lower chances of burning=soil

I love Aeroflo2, but jsut as with any hydro system they can fucking torch plants with the PH is not checked 2 times a day, as well the EC/pmm and water levels.

If your buddy really has the loot to throw down, then really you want to put together a system that reduces your chances of failure, not just anything you think is cool.
Error is what causes shock. Shock is what hurts yields.
Spend all that $ on reducing error.

I agree with Aeropro and others. REduce mistakes.

KISS
Keep it simple Stupid.

Plants need only a few things to grow.
Nutrients, Co2, water and lights.

I to on my first grow went all out. I now have mh lights i dont use, squirel fans sitting in a corner, nutrients that went bad and much money spent on seeds that did not work.

I woudl start with a 400 watt HPS. Some good organic soil, soem good nutes and ph balanced water.

Then while it veges research growing techniques.. you want teh msot yield look up some sea of green techniques and practice then expand.

Peapel say its a weed -- man i wish it grew like one. my biggest problem has always been heat.

I grow i na shed and it kills me. This year I purchased a darkroom 120 and a portable AC unit. I am building up from their as needed .. Step by step. I put hte excess money on the side and will use it as I need it till i perfect it. I recomend you and your friend do the same.

good luck

If you wanna drop $2000 buy one of those Volksgardens, things are awesome. http://www.omegagarden.com/ I've heard crazy things about yields coming out of those things. I really wish someone could go about how to rig up a DIY version of one of these things. I'd be super interested in building one if I knew what I'd need. Just not feeling the whole $2000 price and having to have something that big and conspicuous shipped to me. In fact I may try and start a thread of my own on just that subject.
