They are specifically made for cultivation, but for cannabis id say only to use for vegging. They come in 2 kinds 2700K for flower and 6500K (or w.e it says on it) for veg. 13,000 lumens so for veg they sure get the job done + they have best PAR (Photosynthetically active radiation) number of photons/sec that hit the surface of the leaf (u could say?!) and u dont need any ballast, it's built-in in the lamp, xD. But for flower they still dont seem to get the job done as an HPS does...

i was hoping someone would say female but i knew that my luck wasnt that good, ah well maybe it will show fem before i toss it

so wow, my biggest plant has really taken off even with all the cutting of branches all the younger branches that i was making room for are full of 7 finger leaves. even my two smallest plants are starting to grow really fast(probably from being watered with more that the recomended dose of plant food which im surprised didnt burn the shit out of them) so anyways i think i will be throwing them all into flower on sat probably. ill take the decrease in yield to know the sex of them., oh and i added another fan just to be safe and strengthen the stems

Looks like you got a female there bro, notice how the ball lookalike thing is not perfectly rounded but has a kind of pointing edge, thats your calyx, unless there are more ball lookalike things right beside each other forming on the nodes then you've definatly got a female and if thats the case congrats.
Your plants look real good and try to avoid them stretching, trust me, i've done this.
I started with 21 soft white cfls (closer to warm white than cool) and vegged for 4 weeks with cfl's within 1inch or less from my plants, topped them on 5th set of leaves (only the once) and trimmed the shit outta them just like you have and sent them into veg at around 5inches (tallest) and 2inches (shortest plant).
They were extremely compact and short but with many leaves and internodes.
I'm now on week 5 flowering and have since purchased a 600w hps and the plant that went into flowering at 5inches is now 13inches with close together internodes that join and buff up easily because of how close they are. My shortest plant at 2inches going into flowering is now 16inches tall and has branched out exceptionally with still tight together internodes and all stems are beefed up with bud, hardly no stem in sight so i'd say bring your light right on top of your girls.
They'll grow faster, mature faster, and be more than ready for flowering, also i'll add, throw in all the available cfl's you have even for veg, remember, the more light the better

thanks for the comments guys ill move my lights a little closer, i decided to start there flowering cycle, last night at 7 pm the lights went out until 7am this morning. havn't checked them yet because my woman is sleeping and the light would wake her up. next chance i get im gonna hook up another 4 40watt 2700 cfls but even that im a little too tight on money for right now. but ifi dont buy my usual 3gr for $25 i can make it this thrs. iv been out of dope for about 3 days so i dunno. ill figure something out, anyways thanks for stopping by all.appreciate the comments

day 2 of 12/12

lots of growth over night last night but im not attributing that to the 12/12 too early, even the small 2 grew alot picking up some bloom nutes soon.

i raisedmy lights about 2 inches yesterday morning and this mornin the biggest of my kids is almost touching the lights solots of vertical growth.unfortunetly i dont have time for pictures but ill get some up after work.

is it safe to use veg nutes AND bloom nutes?im thinking of re-veging her (if its a her) after i harvest so i can get some good clones instead of seeds and what is a good number for my bloom nutes?

this stage you dont use the veg, if anything i would use just a lil, but they need the bloom more

From what ive heard it takes some time to re-veg a flowering lady. I would instead get some "good" seeds. Seems to me its waste of time and space to re-veg, iono?!

yea your probably right. with the money ill save by not buying weed from my dealer i should be able to afford some good seeds.




anyways here is another update.

day 3 flower

added 2 more 40 w 2700k cfls to the other 4 42 w bulbs that are already in there(tried to taake a pick but didnt work well, i figure in another week or 2 ill buy another 2 - 4 more 40watters

lots of growth over night again but no clear signs of sex damn. lol
took a picture of each of my nutes which one would be best to use next? my plants seem to be able to take as much nutes as i throw at them iv already been feeding with the shultz plant food over the recomended dosage with no burn what so ever. anyways thats todays update. l8er dayz

Dont worry...it can take quiet some time to show sex sometimes. I've waited 2 weeks before signs of sex on some grows...

Yeah my last plant took exactly 14 days to show, and even now it seems like its taking that long again, i would use the first pic of nutes you posted, i heard that Schultz stuff is pretty hot

Either way, just make sure to start out at 1/4th strength
