My First Aerogarden Deluxe grow

Well, I've been watching and reading several threads on this site about you all growing in an aerogarden. I got a deluxe as a gift and was thinking maybe I could have a little stealth grow since i have limited space in a condo complex. I've ordered some lowryder 2 and top44 seeds and will hopefully recieve those in the near future. Till then I've germanated about 20 seeds from some regs i've gotten in the past to use as a test run.

If anyone has some advice along the way it is appreciated. It's been a long time since i've grown and it was always in dirt in the past. Im excited to see what can be accomplished. I've seen some iimpressive grows on this forum and hope I can come close to some of their yields

For now I have a standard aero deluxe with 3 germinated seeds in the standard aero set up. I plan on getting a stone, xtra lights, and some organic nutes in the next few weeks. I will be growing in to the grow, as i go. Mylar will be put in as well as any other improvements i feel are neccesary.

I hope to share this experience with you all.
Comments are welcome unless you are going to bash the aero as there seem to be some haters out there.

I came back today after running some errands and took some photos, i wasn't going to take any till there was something to show but low and behold.

Does anyone think i didn't push the seed in far enough?? I was surprised to see the seed above the AG sponge so quickly,

Update:

I had some more seeds sprout so I know have 5 pods planted total. As surprised as I was with the quick growth I was more surprised to see my first set of real leaves after less than 24 hours in the aero. They are tiny but are there, 2 other seeds have broken the surface and are right behind the lead girl. I'll post pics in the next couple days.

Not really sure if anyone is even reading this but I'm gonna keep going.

looks like thats wayyy too far out. when it pokes through it should be green not yellow. like the pic i attached. the day before i took this the entire thing was half an inch under the soil

I totally agree, I actually used a pair of tweezers and pushed it in further, it shot back out and is now green with leaves. been a while but I got the itch to grow.

Thanks, good luck to you, I checked your thread and they look good, I would definately try to add some light but don't burn the house down. I'll be checking to see how ur doin.

thanks man! yea i deffinatly need more light. one of the plants was my friends so i gave it to him today lol it was the smaller one so now i have more room in the box. i moved the plant closer to the light, do you think a 1cm gap is too close?

one cm sounds pretty close but these cfl lights arn't supposed to get too hot. Still one cm sounds a bit close. You may want some better advice than me on that question. the aero has 3 llights and i have one extra cfl right now on mine. They are a good 4 inches above the plants right now. I will let them grow up till i raise the arm. I'll try to keep lights as close as i feel comfortable with.

i read somewhere than an inch or less for cfls but maybe 1cm is just a tad too close lol. put up some more pics bro!

So it's almost been 72 hours since I planted the cracked seeds into the aerogarden. I have a total of 5 seeds growing with the base 3 lights and a small cfl on the side. I will be putting more in as time progresses.

They seem to be coming along pretty well, three have shed their seeds and one has started it's first set. You may be able to seem em in the pics.

Thats where the seed was attached to the leaf. I just let it fall of by itself.

I'll post some pics later tonite, stuck at work while football is being played, what a joke...

So it's been almost 7 days since the seeds went into the aero. I had a total of 5 plants but a couple just didn't take. I have 3 that I think will make it. One has roots that reach all the way to the bottom of the rez. I'll take pics of those next time, forgot today. Im wiating for my lr2 and lowlife lemon and lowlife ak47 seeds which will be my real grow but so far this is what i've gotten with the bagseed. Figured if i was gonna screw up a couple i'd rather it was bagseed.

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.

Well it's been pretty slow going, my first sprout just shut down altogether and the others have passed her in growth. They all have nice root growth. Got home from work today and noticed considerable growth. I was getting a bit worried.

FoxFarm nutes are on the way and got some stronger cfls for the side lighting. Currently running aero stock lights and 3 42w cfl's

Hey, you are 6 days behind me. Just got a couple machines myself. Using foxfarms as well. I'm gonna be getting lots of CLFs shortly. Not looking too bad though. We have the same ideas it seems. How did you just make thumbnails instead of regular size pics though?
