the pump schedule should go as follows: 20-30 seconds pump on and 3-4 minutes pump off

all plants need time to dry out. dry encourages root growth. clones are no exception

i run my pumps with 30 seconds on, 3-4 minutes off

i posted my diy aero here: https://www.rollitup.org/2278381-post40.html if you wanna look i get roots in about 3-5 days

oh yea, having the pump running 24/7 also causes your nute solution to heat up. so hot that it can encourage pathogen freedom and rootrot

however, clones like to root in 70-78F res temps so you are good....i just normally refresh the water if i leave them in that long

LoudBlunts, i tryed the 24h route thro reading of others and just for the hell of it to keep a way for good aereation.... and it worked....been thinking of trying it on a timer..... i also showed the stuff i use for the mix, not fertz, an enzime producer and anti bacterial product wich promotes root growth, Growzyme, and at a way weak solution... learned that the hard way..... i have never had the rez water get hotter, but i will remember that..... as for the root time, i generally have like 2" to 6" roots everware at the end of day 7, so i'll just continue this tread that way and might just start a new one with the timer on the pump to compair! ah ha.... idea...... :leaf:

Hey epix, I have looked over your cloner and have decided to duplicate it for either a cloner, or holding a mother plant. First question, where did you get those sprayers? Lowes didn't have em. Did you get it from a hydro shop? And second, what do you think about me growing a mother if I wanted to instead. Modified of course...

good day there bricktown73,
i got the misters at my hydro shop, but have seen them in stores with irrigation supply's.......
as for using it for a Mother.....
you'll need to add a timer for the pump and a brace, a big mom might be too heavy for the container lid... unless you get a jug with a supper thick and solid lid.....
it'll work for that tho...

Now i gotta update the cloner for Day 6.......

It has roots and i will get some pics up........
but..........
lmao.........
i dropped my cam into the rez while trying to get pics of the roots........fuk...... damb thing won't turn on now..... fuk......
so........
i'll continue trying to dry it enought to work or get another........

so sorry....... pics will come..... one way or another before this day ends...

**Mental Note........ always use the wrist strap when over water...**

and cheap to make and use.....
most exspencive parts wuz the pump ($50) and misters ($6 each).......
and the fact that ya really only need water without fertz or any fancy timer setups, the only reason i even have a timer on the T5's is cause the clones just don't need 24h in this stage, but i started my first few batch's on 24h and had the same success......

makes it the eaciest to use with the most success i have tryed!

i would think so with less mister heads, i only used so many misters cause i reused all that from my bigger cloner...... i had to change pumps and mister heads to make it work the first time..... trial and error.....

with my first cloner i tryed to use the Black Head misters....
i originally tryed it with a 150gph pump...
no go....
so went and got the 264gph pump.....
still no go....
so i went and got all Red Head misters and changed them out.....
with the 150gph pump it only drizzled outa the red misters.....
with the 264gph all the red misters work perfect, lol, shoots water like a foot out on ether side!

hope that helps.....

epix you don't get any leaks what so ever with just that weather stripping around the top and the lid upside down? wouldn't it work better to use the lid right side up and snap it down to make a good seal?

i have a DIY cloner as well and i used garage door trim on the inside of the lid to stop my leaks but it was a pain to silicone in there.

also do you just slice the bottom of the stem? or do you shave off the skin as you would if dipping them in rooting horomone and putting them in rockwool?

let me know!
