My dirt cheap grow

I'm growing in a closet in my room. the room is 32"Wx60"Lx48" H. slanted cieling hight is of lowest part. i am using (2) 48" T8 shop fixtures. 32 watt tubes. I am just starting to put the room together. the walls are painted flat white. and the seeds will be bag seeds. I will update as i do more to the room and buy stuff for the grow.

updates:I just picked up (2)6500K tubes and (2)3000K tubes for my T8's. and miracle-gro organic choise soil and perlite. and a timer and power strip. will start germinating tomarrow or the next day.

update:I put 31 seeds in a medicine bottle with water and put it my dresser draw. i got plastic 16oz. plastic cups in red and clear(for humidity dome). i'll check the seeds tomarrow night and plant any seeds that are cracked, and the ones that arent i will put in a wet papper towel.
I also did a heat test and the temp of the room with the lights on for over 24 hours, and the temps were 74degreesF on the floor and half way up the wall in the front(which is about the top of the back) the temp is 84 degreesF. but there is no small fan in there yet. i mixed the miracle-gro/perlite 2/1. any comments?

none of the seeds were cracked so i put then in wet paper towel on a plate. back in my dresser.

Hey man sounds good so far- I almost have the same system goin on! For your seeds, just put them in a bowl with some toilet paper, sprinkle some water on it enough to get it dampt, then put your seeds on it, sprinkle some SUGAR and FLOUR on them, and then place a coffee filter on top ( cut out the bottom or whatever just enough to cover the area of seeds. Then wait, with it in the dark somewhere warm. They should sprout very quickly- the sugar is there to provide it with simple sugar which boosts it temporarily, and the flour is there to retain moisture. Thats how i germinate mine

^^^ I just put the seeds about a half inch apart between two thick, damp tissues. Place them in some kind of closed container or bag in a dark place and within 2-4 days of them will root. Works 9/10 times. I've never heard of using sugar or flour...

*Not knocking it just never heard of that.

youll get a better success rate of you put a heating pad under the paper plates. Seeds and seedling love warmth and humidity. Goodluck

you can also put them on top of your cable box or whatever else gets warm.

ya i've never heard of the sugar and flour either. i've always had good luck germanating. but i always messed up the nutes. i used 100% nutes to start instead of 25% like i should have. but i was a kid last time i tried growing. now i know alot more from talking to friends that grow and alot from reading on here. in the next year i'm going to be building stinkbuds aeroponic system. my system will be longer tho and maybe 3 4x4 pvc fence post per system instead of 2. but thats another grow journal later now. good luck with ur grow guys.

update: i put 18 of the seeds into dirt today. all had about 1/4 inch root. the red cups have 3 small holes cut out of the bottom of them. and the clear cups are cut down to fit at the 3/4 part of the red cup for a humidity dome.

update: 3 more seeds went into dirt today. i also had 19 not 18. i planted 2 seeds in 1 cup by accident. :dunce:

so i put it in its own cup.

i took the clear cup off 18 plants today. there small. little less then an inch i think. i'll get pix up later tonight or tomarrow.

i checked my plants this afternoon. and desided to water the 19 plants that i took the clear cup off. and then put the clear cups back on. i did this with just the light from ceiling. at end of dark cycle. i gave the plants about 2 oz. of water, it was enought to get sum drainage. i'm going to order a digital ph and tds meter next week, off of amazon.com. i also switch my light cycle from 24/0 to 18/6. here a pix of a larger one and a smaler one.

i added soil to each cup today. i misted the soil after i added it to the cups. and then i put the clear cups back on. i fixed my light setup with a pully system to make it easyer to raise the lights. and move plants around. will post pix tomarrow.

i removed the humidity cup today, and watered all the cups with about 2oz. of water. i let the water sit in a open container, for a day or 2. will post pix later tonight or tomarrow.

its ok man. yup there bagseed. no money right now to order seeds or buy a digital camera. the pix are taken on a camera phone. rep doesnt realy mean much to me. but i dont mind when i do get repped. im growing for fun and free smoke. well besides cost of lights and stuff like that. i'll try to get a camera soon little hard right now trying to get sum old bills paid up from not having a job.
watered yesterday again. soil was alittle dry. will be transplaning soon. the temp and humidaty high in the room is 83 degrees and 56% humidity. the low is 61 degrees and 36% humidity. will update soon and add pix when i can.
