Hi, just a small problem with my COB fixture, its hanging down on 1 side so I cant hang it right now

Currently I just have an eye hook in the centre on each end - then attaching my hanging ropes to that

Should I try something like hanging from 4 corners instead? What are you COB DIYers doing for this, im not the best when it comes to mechanical stuff like this :P

You should have 2 eye bolts on each end either in the corners or equidistant from each other. Having just one on each end you would have to have everything balanced perfectly and that is hard to do. There are a lot of different methods you can employ.

yeah i think thats the problem - small DC PS is probably overloading that side as nothing equivalent on the other
i have some metal strap so will try attaching one end of each strap in the corner - meet them in the middle and hook the hanging rope there, hopefully that will work

Part of my layout design was trying to balance everything amd spread the load since I did not go with 1/8"thick angle. I also put my eyebolts about 1/4 of the way in on each end as that is where there seemed to be the most even load spread and most strength.

Get a metal hanger cut off 6 " bend it in a u shape with two reverse tabs drill two holes 6 inches apart. Put hanger tabs in holes hang with two cables squared and straight. Peace

I got it sorted - 2 metal straps screwed into each corner and meeting in the middle, attached eye hook to the middle and its fairly level now

is it a problem if my humidifier is blowing moisture up onto the COBs ? I dont have lenses on them
