my cloning technique

This is the way I clone. I have yet to have a cutting fail to root for me. All of these will be shooting roots within 10 days and be ready.for transplant. Let me know what your tricks are for the perfect cutting!!

I typically dip the cut end into water asap after cutting it. I remember reading it helps prevent possible air bubbles in the stem. Not sure where I read it and if it's correct but I figured I'd put it out there.

I have heard this same technique. There is a cloning solution called dutch master replicator that has no hormone, all it claims to do is remove any air that may have made its way into the stem. Thanks for the tip it's a good one!

I usually have a big bowl of water when I take my cuttings and just throw them in the bowl as i cut, just let em float around. Then I can go sit down and trim, slice, etc and get them in the cloner. I've left cuttings in the bowl for up to an hour before going back and dealing with them and the only issue i saw was it took a little longer for them to bounce back because they were water logged.

No additive or chemical will remove air from the stem. Only way i know to remove it is to cut the stem back, I don't even think the plant can get rid of it through it's own fluid transfer processes, I believe it " locks up" fluid flow in the plant, but i could be wrong. Getting fresh cuts immediately into water is the only way to prevent it.

Well I think the product I mentioned claims to have a similar effect as water does concerning the air issue. That's what the bottle says anyway. But if you can just use water to remove air then why spend money to do so?

I don't think you can remove the air once it get's into the stem, i think it you need to make sure it doesn't happen.

isn't it awesome how resilient this plant is? Thanks for sharing your technique here. I think cloning is a scary subject for first timers so I'm glad to get your feedback.. any chance we could see a photo of your cloner and how it works?

Don't have one at the moment, well it's packed away. I put down the garden gloves for the last year or so, just starting to get up and running again, I've been living vicariously through this forum. I had a small cloner i made out of a small rubbermaid tub with a pond pump and some sprayers in it, nothing special. I did learn that a deep container is better, mine was kind of shallow, only about 4" deep, so I couldn't keep much water in it or I drowned the cuttings, which meant the water level was just barely covering the pond pump and i was constantly topping it off or the pump would start running dry. I'd say an 8" deep tub is minimum. . If you look at this thread:https://www.rollitup.org/t/harvest-a-pound-every-three-weeks.116859/
I'm building this system, cloner, veg unit and flower unit. 2 of each.

Hey CaliHerb nice video n beautiful & healthy bunch of gurls u got there, my technique is very similar. But is it just me or did it look like u just topped that plant wen u snipped that cuttling? And tha whole container depth part doesnt matter, u dont even need tha clear plastic humidifier lid to necessarily either cuz ive had PLENTY of clones rooted even after sitting in a cup of water for a week or two so ive never had a problem with them getting "water logged" neither, as long as u put em in water rite after u snip em n maybe foliar spray em sum til u use em.

P.s.
CAherb if I was u id do a lil pruning on they gurls before u throw em into bloom....
