those are some serious trees you got there.
thanks dude again, but I might have gone too big for my lil cab. But they have vegged for about 6-8 weeks overall and maybe a little of over half of that in the 1.5 and 2.25 gallon pots. [1st mistake, different sized pots] And really all under the just the 4 of the Cree 2700k Led bulbs too.

Veg always goes good for me and the LED's have been phenomenal, but flowering is another story, my mixes seem to either lack mag potassium or lock it out.

Indoor is such a different ballgame than outdo, but im catching up hopefully :weed:

At least you have somewhere to start. I killed 3 plants already and my 40 day old needs calcium. In my young ignorance I've been feeding her bottled water for far to long. Powdered some egg shells for the soil and switched to ph'd tap water, I hear it has traces of calcium in it.

I feed rainwater as much as I can, but I get 35 inches a year on average. Bottled water is fine and doesn't have chlorine, chloramine and hexafluorosilic acid [fluoride derived from synthetic potassium fertilizer] in it, that's nice.

Are aerating your tap water or letting it sit to evaporate out the chlorine? or maybe you are lucky and don't have it added to your system, but now chloramine is being added in its place.

Calcium deficiencies can certainly be helped by top dressing with powdered kelp [although I use stinging nettle...land kelp]

My brother in law actually made me some calcium phosphate this year and I need to make more, I have the recipe which he used [have to dig it out]

but basically you roast the eggshells and then soak them in vinegar, the stuff works awesome...[I don't know why I waited so long to make more, lol,]

Bone meal is another option for calcium, takes a while, but a nice pre-cooked soil before you plant should be nice and supplemented.

Lastly, if you really have been following this thread, I make my own ferts where I can. I harvest a bunch of plants and ferment them to "tea" and mix with water.

Plants I harvest that have lots of calcium include:
Dynamic Accumulators of Nutrients for Composting

horsetails
stinging nettle
comfrey [although I pick something called Houndstongue, even bigger and leafier but still in the Borage family]
wild savory [mint family]
parsley

Yeah, you're gonna out grow that cab. My biggest concern has been soil/mix and ferts. I'm using miracle grow soil/perlite/peat moss and so far I love the mix. I'm using miracle grow ferts which I know is frowned upon by I got no choice. I 've had a cal deficiency that's cleared up and a bit too much N but so far so good. I will pass close attention to flower though as we just got there. I veg'd the one for 7 weeks and it's big and growing fast.

Thanks buddy. Too bad they dont ship outside the states.. ebay shipment for these is way too expensive for it to be worthwhile. Oh well, gonna have to stick to CFLs for now.

Yeah, that does suck! There must be somewhere to get some of these bulbs. I don't think the Phillips are exclusive to Home Depot, although I know the Cree are.............., lame....

I like the soil mix and wont judge you on MG: your growing, that's what counts. I have have some oil-dri from Walmart [vermiculite] and I forgot some of that is in my mix, so it's it 35Soil/50perlite/15Vermie, works pretty good for my 1st time trying it, doesn't hold a too much water and allows the right amount for oxygen.....so far!

Mites have become my biggest problem and more deficiencies in my small cab! oh well.........I hope I don't run out of room, but its looking like they get a bondage session each week, because they are growing all over the place, but again, I also have a N problem with one of the girls, but she is looking better.

I do have another foot of headroom, ok maybe half that, but the lights still have room to move up.....
----------------------------------------------------
Edit:
What I seem to have found is that even with the reduced heat, the plants seem to do best with a light spacing @ 6" or so, with low wattage amounts of led's....Maybe up to a foot in my 100w cab, they penetrate the canopy farther than cfl's.

I kinda got stuck into thinking that not only would I need to sog/scrog the canopy, but that being upclose like cfl's would be the trick....but they put out some piercing light, so I am beginning to think 6" spacing minimum........

@Abiqua You working off of clones or from seed? To my understanding clones and outside soil are what normally introduces spidermites to your garden. I know there are cases where bad potting soil carries the pest as well. The clone spreading mite fears are what keeps me in the grow from seed state of mind. I'm assuming my soil is safe as I have yet to see any signs on my 7 week old.

@Spanky's Monkey ^Seed.......mainly.

Those things you described can INCREASE mite populations, that's for sure, but they are not really what introduces mites. Mites can be ubiquitous, but usually are just dormant. Plant health is definitely an indicator as well.

I have wonky precipitation outside vs. inside and they love coming in to the house during the winter, that and really when you get down to it, just laziness.....I have not kept a strict schedule of spraying, I work my ass off on just about everything else, but keep a habitual spraying pattern is prob...my worst enemy.....

edit: how in the damn hell, am I supposed to tag you?
