My Buddies Problem. Help Please

its that he cant grow anything! i germed plants that im growing personally and ones that were growing together on the same day about 4 weeks ago. he has been vegging all of ours at his house.

anyway, all the ones he had are stretchy, small leafed messes. he said that he was only giving them 2 sodacaps full of water every day or 2. he put them in some potting soil with these weird green time released nutrients in it.

anyway, ive watered them proper and i need to transplant them lower in some soil, but what do you all think this dead/dying matter is from? it wasnt there when i got them from him and started watering them two days ago, so im thinking the time released nutes are too much?

i have some comparison shots GEDC0060.jpgGEDC0059.jpgView attachment 1613024

It looks like they are not getting enough light. I dont know about the dying leaves but it does not look like nute burn to me.

It look s like you should the one vegging them.... If your friend doesn't even know how much water to give them I'm sure he put too many time release pellets in the soil. That's gonna kill your plants quick.
I'd transplant them and tell your friend to kick rocks.

You made a mistake already anyways. You told your friend. I told my best friend too but he's married with kids, a job and a mortgage. Plus he doesn't smoke weed and he's not involved with anyone who's criminal like. Friends get angry. They get their llittle feelings hurt. And soon, he's gonna get jealous because all your plants are gonna be way better than his.

Id say your right ,the nutes were too much from your 'buddy'.Give it a flush and do what ever your doing to the good ones.

alrighty, thanks guys.
said hes never grown a vegetable or anything before, so i knew there would be a learning curve. pretty stand up guy though. ive worked with him for 6 or 7 years and he also has the house/kids/wife thing going on. i figured it would be nice to have a helper. but i kept the ones at my place secret from him anyway, along with a couple good spots. you know, just in case.

so anyway, do you think i should try to rinse some of the old dirt off of the roots, carefully of course?
