My Broken Leg

PHTO0057.jpgPHTO0056.jpgPHTO0055.jpgPHTO0059.jpg...the 1st pic is a rod that was put in, removed, and replaced with a new one...so I kept the old one..he he....the rod is sitting on pics. of it in my leg...it's kinda hard to see, one x-ray is blk on wht, and the other is oppisite...

the 2nd and 3rd are self explanitory...it broke
the last is the rod and screws in the 1st pic....still got one of those in there


...a few years back I was working from a manlift in Detroit...it tipped over...we were 60 feet up ( 6th floor out side appartments )

...it was crazy...i didn't pass out, which would of been nice...that bone came thru the skin too...and I had to be cut out of the stupid lift, it was all wrapped around me...it took the fire dept( Detroit of course ) 45 min. to cut me out...nothing for pain on their EMS truck...it was an experience

Was there a law sute involved...
...after 4 years of collecting workmans comp...I settled in Oct. 09...
... I broke more than just my leg...1 vert in neck t-3 I think it was....3 verts in lower back, cruched tail bone, broke left hand and all 4 fingers, right forearm had a small fracture ( no cast...it was the only limb I had left..lol)...and both knees

Yeah it sucked. I hit my head and didnt even know I fell at first. My boss said I got up and went to start picking up my tools that I dropped and there was blood shooting out of my back. It was an experience.

...the guy I fell with was shouting out his last wishes to the people who came out of the apartment...he wasn't hurt that bad...but he thought he was dieing...lol...I can laugh now, but it was scary at the time

...I probable did too...lol...I was so twisted and broken...and the lift looked like it might move, they way it was leaning...so I was focused on that...because that would of been a nother disaster...but ya..I think that happens with shock and trauma

Yeah I gues with all the possible fluids that could of come out piss is minor.
...lol...no shit...oh, there was no shit, thankfull for that ...it would suck to have a pants full of shit in the ER...even after surviving that fall and having all the injuries...that would of bothered me the most...man, in front of the nurses...I don't even want to think about it ...lol

Glad you made it through that one Rowl / BigV.

A friend of mine told me about a time when he and his brother were doing an aluminum job - they had a 4x4 sheet of 3/8" on a table saw taking a very small (but 4' long) wedge out of one side when at the end of the cut the piece caught & was jammed through his abdomen.
His brother took a circ saw, lopped off the ends so it wasn't so long & he hung onto the roll bar of his pick up while being driven to the ER gushing the whole way.
I didn't see that & it still gives me the willies.
