Blue Mystic in Coco.

It has the biggest cola I've ever grew. HUGE bulk-head type. Its over the size of my 1L BioBizz Bio bloom.
Its not that compact, but still, its huge.

All the Blue Mystics I grow smells fruity but the smell is pretty neutral.
They have pretty large internodes and the strain is the tallest of my current strains.
Its branchy as well but it grows with lots of space between the branches.
Despite their name I barely got any coloration even tho temps have been around 16°C for a while.
A few main buds got slight coloration.

The one in coco is HEALTHY. shit healthy.
It loves my feeding regiment.

It got some burns from the light on the top of the main bud and made it ugly. However, it barely did anything beside that.

It has at least 2 weeks to go. Barely brown hairs and the trichs are 80% milky around 17% clear and around 3% amber.
From my experience with this strain it needs to get at least 25% amber to give a good effect.

Blue Mystic in soil - the big one.

Crappy plant. LOADS of branches with small buds.
Only the bud that got a LOT of light became pretty big, but the rest are small.
Its healthy and all that, but it needs much much more light than I have.

Has quite a bit to go.

Overall pretty healthy with some nice buds.
Its main buds leaves are pretty colored. Its nice.
Not much besides that differs from the ones previously mentioned.

Great White Shark.

A good plant with lots of branches that doesn't too close to each other.
However, its main cola is really nice and tall.
It could be topped for the use of lots of branches or legs shaved to have the main cola only.
Its a strecher.

It smells like good weed. Can't really explain.

It was pretty healthy along the way and it seems like it will reward me nicely.
Its the frostiest of the soil plants too!

Couldn't take more pictures due to its place in the room.

Lemon Skunk.

Altho not the heaviest yielder I LOVE THIS PLANT.

In soil it was CRAP but in coco its thriving.

It loves nutes and takes quite a bit of water.

Its a main-cola type but the lower branches rewards me nicely if put to the light.

Its the quickest to finish.

Its the frostiest of my plant. The lower buds are glazed with crystals its insane.

It smells like lemon candy. Not like anything else. LOVE IT.

Not that hardy it seems, but heck does it smell good!

I wanted to take some lower buds for sampling but I don't want to ruin the final yield so I could see the statistics as they really are.
Plus, I know that if I do there wouldn't be much left when it really should be harvested.

Croped some high-resolution photo that might give another light to the trichomes.

DOES IT SEEM READY TO HARVEST TO YOU?

you're welcome...;-)

That plant looks like it's almost ready. I would give it another week, give or take a couple days.. Other then that, shit looks real nice..

nah man that plant has more than a week left. i would give it another 2 or 3 weeks. mine are about at the same stage and im gonna give em at least 3 more. ur pistils havent even started to recede. let her get fat and super glazed!

Although not showing in the pictures, the pistils on the Lemon Skunk have receded mostly a while ago.
You can check back on the diary to see previous pictures.

Calyxes have swolen greatly, around 30% of the pistils turned brown, most of the pistils receded back to the pistils and the trichomes are around 45% amber.

Today I will probably harvest the plant.
I'll do a final check on the trichomes and by that harvest the ripe buds.

Beside that, yesterday I found some male fowers on top of one of my Great White Shark. They haven't opened up yet.
I will cut them off today, check the whole plant for more and won't run this genetics on my next run.
No seeds in the other plants. Lucky timing.

Update day 67:

I'll start with the bad news:
The coco\perlite Blue Mystic had bud rot in most of the center of the main cola (the huge one).
It was all over the main stem where not enough air flow gone to. I guess I'll count the strain as mold sensitive.
The part affected have been harvested and cleaned from the rot.
It lost around 20% of the bud to rot.
It is now hanging to dry. It haven't been flushed.
However, by the trichs it was ripe enough to be harvested.

Like mentioned in my previous post the GWS have hermied on me. Checked the plant and no mature male flowers have been found. Some of the buds are seeded however.
I'll be removing its clones from my next grow.

Good news:

The Lemon Skunk main cola and a few secondary colas have been harvested and are as ripe as should be. The lower half of the plant is left to rippen and have been watered with fertilizers.

While walking my dog in a field I found 2 ladybugs. Chances were 1 out of 2 that I'll get a male and a female and get some eggs.
When I got home I put them in a CD cake until the light came on. Meanwhile they both layed eggs!
They have been released today in my flowering room and the eggs have been layed in the CD cake left open to hatch.
I hope that thoes lady bugs will finally get rid of the tobacco aphids I had.
They do look happy.

Plants have been watered with fertilizers at max. (or slightly above) dose beside the White Rhino that will be chopped in a week.

Also from all the bud touching I got some finger hash made.

Update day 69.

Things are going fine except I can't find the ladybugs :S
I'd probably hunt some more soon.

The Blue Mystic in coco has around a week and a half to go.
The large Blue mystic is the same.
The Small blue mystic is pretty ripe. It might be harvested at saturday.
The Cheese is pretty ripe as well.
so does the White Rhino.
The Great White shark will be chopped when the last one is getting chopchoped as it has quite a bit to go but it doesn't worth the waiting only for it as its a hermi.

Added some photos.

Please share your opinion as to rather their ripe or not.

The first 4 pics are the cheese. the 3 others are the white rhino.
the next is the hermi GWS.
the rest are what my room looks like currently.

Its day 74 to flowering and this is an update.

Main colas of the White Rhino and Blue mystic that was in the large container got harvested.
So did the rest of the Lemon Skunk.

I wanted to harvest more but couldn't disturb the woman while she was learning for an exam that takes place tomorrow.

I want to harvest more of the big blue Mystic, so of the Cheese colas and maybe some more of the White Rhino. I will probably do that tomorrow.

I got 5 new ladybugs I've hunted today. They are strugling in the room for a reason.
all the eggs I had hatched. ant-like creatures are crawling all over the CD cake.

I flushed the coco\perlite blue mystic and it will be harvested in a few days. I harvested, dried and smoked some of the main bud (that had mold issues) and it was surely ripe enough for me.

Posted a smoke report on it.

I made some more finger hash today - 0.065grams of it. I'd say enough for a daytime doobie. For a lightsmoker like me at least.
Got some mash to make some screen hash later. Saving the sugar leaves for it.

Day 76:
Yesterday have been busy chopping - the small Blue Mystic have been totally chooped, most of the Cheese main colas have been chopped, quite a few of the big Blue Mystic have been chopped.

Due to schedual the rest will be harvested this weekend or in the beggining of the next week. (and not sooner)

Trichome test suggest most the buds left are ripe enough already but a week more wouldn't hurt them.

Don't have many pictures of the harvest itself as my fingers were too sticky to handle the camera.
When I could, I took a picture.

My drying space is full right now and I'm too lazzy to fix another rope for hanging. Plus i don't have the time to chop more for the next few days.

The numbers are starting to gather.
The top of the blue mystic main bud weighted 9.8 grams and is mostly gone by now. It was the mold infected one.

The top part of the Lemon Skunk weighted 24.18 grams.

Update:
i've pulled the lights off this morning so they didn't come up this evening. I'll be harvesting in the next few days and dont feel any need to waste more power for nothing.

Put the rest of the Lemon Skunk in the jar a few minutes ago and weighted it. The grand total out of the Lemon skunk is 35.5 grams!
It was far from heavy yielding but over a zip from a plant in a 7L pot that got much less light during the veg and first few weeks of flowering is something I don't mind growing :D
It smells so destinctive its amazing. VERY lemony.
If I grew it alone I doubt anyone would have recognized the smell as weed if I haven't been using a carbon scrubber.

Haven't smoked it yet but it smells and looks dank. I had it sampled by a mate yesterday that claimed it was some very good herb. And he knows his shit well.
(couldn't smoke myself as I had stuff to do)

2 days ago I put the top of the White Rhino (the rest haven't been copped yet) in the jar.
It looks great - very tight.
The smell is very skunky and fuely. Like overpowered grass smell and some chemicals.
Haven't smoked or let anyone smoke it yet so I don't know its qualities.

The weight I got from the tops of the White Rhino is 33.86 grams. 1.2ounces.

Got some of the mold infected Blue Mystic in the jar after careful chopping and tending. No more mold in there. Another 2.88 grams added to that jar.

I should put the small blue mystic in a jar today and weight it as well.
I have quite a bit of herb ready to be jarred but low on jars right now. Will get some tomorrow or on friday.

For now the dry weight count is 82.04 grams.
I hope to get a total of over 300 grams. That was my initial goal.

I made some hash today from my sugar leaves trim.
Had em dried up well and froze overnight.

Thats only the sugar leaves. i got some other leaves with some trichs that i'm drying but I don't expect much from them.

I ran 34 grams of shake twice.
First I chopped only the big parts, used my screens and saved the outcome.
Then did the proccess again but chopped everything before putting it again in the first screen.

My setup is as simple as peanuts - 2 flour sieves. One called "flour sieve" (4.5 bucks) and one called "silk sieve"(12 bucks). They are used for flour sieving to make it kosher.

The flour sieve is around 230 micron and used to get the big chunks away.
I have no clue whats the value of the silk sieve, but I've been told its around 100 micron.

My first run came much better than the second. You can see that in the pictures.

It smells like amsterdam :D

Beside that I'd call the product medium quality. Its far from being as good as some I've seen but better than the laced hash that runs around here.

I barely smoke hash, made it not to throw something that still worth something.

I tried to press it. Didn't go well.
Tried using a plier under some aluminium foil and although it worked it stuck into the hash in parts and that was stupid.
Tried hand pressing it inside aluminum foil envelop - not nearly enough power.
Tried heating it - helped but not that much.
Finally figured my best method currently is putting the kief in a sprayer lid thats pretty small and press it down with a drumming stick using my weight.
Pressed kinda fine.
Next time I'll add a bit of alchohol to make it press better.

Annoyingly, the whole thing came pretty natural to me.

Jarred some more yesterday and now the count is on:

White Rhino - 34.97g. Still more than half a plant to go.

Cheese - 20.45g. Harvested the rest of the plant yesterday. Still needs manicuring.

Lemon Skunk - 35.51g for the whole plant.

Small Blue Mystic - 20.19g for the whole plant.

Large Blue Mystic - 10.84g. Most of the plant still awaits for harvesting.

Coco\perlite Blue Mystic - 12.69g. Only the parts that had mold found in them have been harvested. The rest of the plant is still waiting.

That gives a total of 134.47 grams + 3.32 of so-so quality hash.

I try to find time to chopchop the rest of the plant. They all look ripe. Seems like the total darkness thing helped quite a bit as they all seem much more mature.

Update day 83 to flowering.

Harvesting have been completed. Done the whole Great White Shark today.
What a pain in the ass. The leaves were stuck very firmly and quite a bit of the smaller ones came down with fluff buds.
As I'm looking for max. yield I've done the lower buds as well.

Took around 2 hours for only this plant. With beer and backgammon breaks it was 3 hours.

I haven't found any seeds in it. I'll check it up thoroughly when dry.
I might keep it after all :D

I won't keep any lower buds on my GWS again. manicuring them doesn't really worth the yield.

While trashing the used soil I checked how far the roots were developt.
In the 25L pots there was at least 30% soil that haven't been used.
they could have been in 15L pots with the same results. Except water holding.
The lemon skunk that was in coco used most of the coco.
the coco Blue mystic haven't used half.

I'll take that info into consideration when I repot my next run.

Talking about my next run- In 2 days I should get the time to work on the room - bleaching it up and working a bit on the light leaks I had.
Should re-do the door as well.
Then I'll repot them and give them a week or so of 400W veg love on 16\8 light regime and flip to 12\12 when they seem ready.
My clones consists of mainly White Rhino as it had the biggest cola considering the rippening time, had very tight structure which goes well into my next grow setup and it seemed very sturdy and healthy all along.

My next run would be the last run this year due to heat issues. I might grow under a 45W CFL in some tight setup just to keep something going.
I will keep only 1 mother after my next run as I should be set on which strain fits me the most.

In a week we should have the final numbers which will conclude this journey.

Overall I'm pretty happy with what I've got. Learned a whole lot this time.
My main lessons:
1. growing when its over 30°C outside doesn't worth the 400W.
2. coco\perlite is much better to me.
3. a digital timer IS a good investment.
4. 25L of soil is too much for 1.7meter trees.
5. Always double check after adding a 2nd light that its sychronized with the current.
6. learned about my strains a whole lot.
7. Should get a LOT of air flow when growing hugh tight buds. The soil went fine but the coco plants got mold.
8. 0\24 light (no light) regime at the last few days DOES help in quick maturing the buds before harvest.

Thanks for everyone who helped me to get my plants through their life :D

Jarred some more today.
Added to the count
White Rhino - 19.6g
Cheese - 15.18g
Coco Blue Mystic - 34.75g.

There has been some mixup and 1 gram from the WR moved and mixed in the Cheese but its jarred together as I can't really tell difference and the buds are too small.

Still got the Large Blue Mystic hanging. It will be jarred on saturday night.
The Great White Shark is still drying as well. might take a bit longer but probably be ready on saturday night as well.

Current count - 204 grams.
I'm not that positive about meeting my 300 grams target. I will estimate another 60 grams are hanging right now.
However, I'm happy with the quility.

Jarred yesterday the GWS and the bottom part of the large Blue Mystic.

GWS gave 61.85 grams.
Large Blue Mystic gave 17.15 grams.

The flowers that got ripped during manicuring have been jarred as well giving:
C - 0.29 grams.
WR - 0.44 grams.
LBM - 0.06 grams.
LS - 0.15 grams
GWS - 0.77 grams.

That gives us a final count of:

Cheese - 35.9 g.
White Rhino - 55.01 g.
coco Lemon Skunk - 35.66 g.
Great White Shark - 62.62 g.
Small Blue Mystic - 20.19 g.
Large Blue Mystic - 28.05 g.
coco Blue Mystic - 47.44 g.

That gives us a grand total of : 284.87 grams this run.

Still got some trim to make hash. Made 3.32 grams already and around 4 more grams of fine finger hash.
I want to give the gumby method a run with part of my shake. If it goes well I'd use it on the rest. If not I will use my screens.

I'm partially disappointed by the yield as I was aiming for 15.13 grams higher. But that pretty fair anyway :D

That concludes this journal. I'm going in a few minutes to repot my vegging plants and put them in the flowering room and give them their own post.
It will take a few days probably until I do post but I'll post a like in here.
