My 2021 Fall Grow

4 Jack Herer auto-fems seeds (from a previous plant that produced seeds).

Hempy style in 2L pop bottles with perlite and soil cap/core.

The strongest and weakest seedlings will be feed Dyna Gro Foliage Pro, and the middle two will get GH Maxi-Bloom......all will get a cal-mag supplement

I'm doing a comparison of the nutes which is far from a proper study but rather for my personal use....this is my first time using Dyna Gro

IMG_2140.JPG

They started off rather equal, with maybe the 4th one being a bit smaller than her sisters

IMG_2152.JPG

The weakest (#4) on the far left and the strongest (#3) on the far right (Dyna Gro).....the middle ones (#2 and #1) GH MaxiBloom

IMG_2205.JPG

I fucked up the pH on all 4, so I had a bit of a setback

IMG_2223.JPG

The two getting GH MaxiBloom (far left & far right) as clearly doing better than the ones getting Dyna Gro

IMG_2232.JPG

The differences between the two test groups are become more obvious

These plants are been grown in a 4.5 x 4.5 grow tent, under a 315 watt CMH but are moved into my living room when the sun is shining for about 5 hours/day....no darkness for these gals, sunshine or CMH 24 hours/day

IMG_2256.JPG

These are the two getting GH Maxi Bloom

These two are getting the Dyna Gro Foliage Pro

The two plants getting GH MaxiBloom are doing much better than the Dyna Gro gals.....not saying that MaxiBloom is better, just saying I have not got these Dyna Gro nutes dialed in yet

The two on the left are MaxiBloom....the two on the right are Dyna Gro which are considerably smaller and less healthy
IMG_2271.JPG

The 2 MaxiBloom gals are not the healthiest plants I've ever grown, but have made decent improvements and are doing okay
IMG_2278.JPG

notice the two new plants on the upper right hand side.....I think I may trash the 2 Dyna Gro plants and replace with the new ones

These gals are getting big enough to require the plastic shoe boxes (filled with rocks) to stabilize them

The gals are just getting too big to move into the sunshine, so just the runt and the 2 young ones get sunshine when available

IMG_2305.JPG

I was considering killing the 2 weak ones that were started on Dyna Gro, but since they have been getting MaxiBloom they have really perked up, in fact are the two healthest of the original 4

this is the one I call the runt...which is looking so much better
IMG_2306.JPG

this is the other one started with Dyna Gro....looking much better
IMG_2316.JPG

this is 1 of 2 using MaxiBloom from start.....not looking so great
IMG_2312.JPG

this is the other using MaxiBloom from start
IMG_2317.JPG

here are the two young ones (Sour Girl) ...I didn't start the cal-mag soon enough on the small one, so had some issues but is okay now
IMG_2309.JPG

the happy family in the tent under a 315 CMH....which is underpowered for a 4.5 x 4.5 tent, but I run the lights 24/7 to compensate

Gals are growing but I'm not overly happy with this grow, except the two young ones (Sour Girl) are doing okay...they are the only ones that get sun when available....too much effort to move the others for the meager 2 hours of sunshine

The first 4 gals (Jack Herer) are getting close to being chopped (they are 14 weeks old), I'm thinking next week.

IMG_2386.JPG

This gal (sour girl) is 9 weeks old, so is obviously not ready

IMG_2378.JPG

The other Sour Girl is only 7 weeks old

IMG_2376.JPG

Only the youngest gal gets some sunshine when available...which is not often during this rainy days

I was going to harvest last week but I had a hand injury so left it another week, for a total of 16 weeks, which I believe helped as my buds were very firm and plump.

I noticed quite a difference between the two grown solely with GH MaxiBloom and the two that were started with Dyna Gro.

The MaxiBloom buds were firmer and larger and there was less larf....so I'm not slamming Dyna gro, but my results were better with Maxibloom.

The first two are the plants started with Dyna Gro. (but eventually switched them to Maxibloom)

This one was the runt of the bunch...it was a serious leaner and actually toppled over when I was trimming it
IMG_2401.JPG

This is the other Dyna gro....a bit bigger than the first

IMG_2405.JPG

The next two are the MaxiBloom gals

My guess is this one will yield the most.....this pic is missing one branch as I forgot to take a pic before chopping it off.
IMG_2402.JPG

The second MaxiBloom gal

IMG_2408.JPG

All 4 hanging out to dry...(Maxibloom on the top, Dyna Gro on the bottom)

IMG_2412.JPG

So I still have the two Sour Girls left....will update them in the future

There wasn't much difference, as they each produced about 3 ounces except for the smaller one was only 2 1/2

So the yield was less than expected but the colas and upper buds are quite firm and rather tasty

IMG_2423.JPG

Still have two going on but the first should be ready anytime now...it's 15 weeks old

IMG_2421.JPG

the other one is only 13 weeks old.....it's smaller than a dwarf but has firm buds

Last week I chopped the first of the Sour Girls.

I just jarred it yesterday, it was just a bit over 2 ounces.

IMG_2426.JPG

IMG_2427.JPG

Today, I chopped my last Sour Girl ....this gal is even smaller than the first one..... guessing about an ounce, maybe a bit more.

IMG_2433.JPG

IMG_2437.JPG

So this is the end to my 2021 fall grow....going to shut down the tent until spring time.

cheers

any verdict on DG vs Maxibloom? 3-1-2 vs 1-2-2.
I did not do well with Dyna Gro, in fact so bad that I feed all of them MaxiBloom after about a month.

End of day, all four (Jack Herer) yielded about the same, except the runt was a bit smaller.

I'm not slamming DG, as I'm sure I messed up something, as such I'll try it again in the future.

maxibloom is good stuff. i used it for years.

the only GH one i didn't like was GH flora duo. 2 part a and b. just couldn't get it right with that one.

MaxiBloom is near foolproof for hempy grows, guess that's why I like it :) and it's cheap.
