the tray stand ima build isn for a person growing fat as plants, but a perpetual grow that involves only 2 gallon buckets. and they way it is going to work is 4 trays. 1 tray for every two weeks. and they will be attached by hangers. so all you have to do is drop them down one notch instead of roding your lights suspension. i am going to have a 16 plant rotation using four plants in each tray. which will give me a quarter oz every two weeks. instead of growing fat ass plants and having to start over.

o and heres what i did with the 150watt hps lights....dual cooltube 4 inch eco plus exhaust fan for 40 bucks

alright, want to thank everyone first of all. I was sketchin on buying one of these, didnt think it would work very well.
Well, Im growing in a closet, 7 feet high, 5-6 feet across and same with width. Im only growing two plants though, in a 3x2 space. I was going to buy the 150w hps and hook it up, ballist outside the closet. I also have 5 23w cfls and 3 65w sylvania gro bulbs to go with it.
I was just wondering the easiest way to cool the closet down, it has no windows and nothing going up...
could I get a small air condition, some ducting and a fan to suck it through on the other side and just point it at the light? I can keep the closet door open during the day while the lights are on.

edit: oops, haha, my bad...i had just found p1 there... i'll have to read up!

do the same thing i did. cooltube it, then attach a duct from the cooltube to a inline fan and have duct goin from the inline fan out the house. or if you dont want to use a inline fan you can just get some smaller fans, though it wont work as well if you were to get something that blew 150cfm. but for your size working with a 4 inch axial fan or possibly 6 inch will work also.

If its just the bulb, which I assume it is, it does NOT work in an household base, nor will it work with anything but a 400w HPS ballast.

Yes, thats right. I wasn't going to try and use it without a ballast. I just wanted to know if the type I was looking at would be compatible and or replace a HPS grow bulb if needed. here is the link...

its actually cheaper when I punch in my zip code, its actually $17.98
but in the link its about $22. I was just wondering if this is a nice price
for that bulb? The only thing that seems expensive is the ballast.

Also, is the Sylvania brand a good alternative compared to the
actual grow lights if needed to be replaced? Is it a good brand period?

how far can these stock reactor ballasts be remotely located from the the lights. looking around online i found somewhere in a wiring diagram that the ignitor and capacitator cannot be more than two feet away, is this true?

K, here's the deal, there is a socket on top of the unit, it unscrews exposing two wires, white and black, just extend them with the wires from a 2 prong extension cord and you are golden, you don't even need to take the ballast portion apart. I am getting tired of saying this over and over.

I am in the process of making a reflector and cool tube for my 2 econo-lights. Any tips on where to get & what to use for the tube? Is that glass or some kinda clear PVC?

Also FYI on the light. If you plan to extend the 2 wires that go from the ballast to the socket do not use extension cord wire (copper). The socket is wired to the ballast with aluminum wire. Apparently copper/aluminum don't mix when spliced together. So go to an electrical place and get aluminum gauge wire to match. this will be safer and extend the life of the connection greatly.

Any tips are much appreciated in reguards to the cooltube material. Great thread btw. These lights are cheap and highly effective.
