Placed 3 praying mantis egg sacks out about a month ago and have seen the babies in and around the garden. This is something we do each season to help control the pest problems, (think it's more for the feel good effect) but it's a habit now. :peace:
I like the praying mantis as they eat alot of pests like grasshoppers, moths, and catapillers. The one thing about mantis' is that they are territorial and will eat everything, including each other, until one dominant female is left in a 500 sqft area. Since they can fly they do fly off too. WHen they mate, the female attracts the male and then eats the head of the male to cause ejaculation. I learned this when I was studying beneficial pests for orchid growing.

I'm so jealous. We have had approximately 8 hours of sun in the last week. Im suprised all mine havent gone into flower mode.

I think Im going to get my pots tomorrow. THey will be either 15 or 20 gal. I think that will help some of my problems.

The garden is looking nice. Tell the wife she done good. Is she toping any of those or do you just let them grow?

Lack of SUN here too at the moment, been overcast for the last 2 days. The girls never get topped here unless it's from a low flying aircraft...lol:peace:
