I'd like to loop or otherwise give new beats to old music.
(sample using my own mp3s)
what softwear are you using?
know of any shareware?

There's quite a few diff programs out there. Check out Fruity Loops (FL Studio), they have a free trial that you can keep forever. Plus, if you play with it long enough you'll figure out how to make your own stuff and export it. But you can also play with that program by adobe, that one's really user friendly. A friend of mine has pro tools also, but that is expensive and mostly for recording and what not.

Get the free demo of fruity loops and download audacity recorder.
Put your tracks into fruity loops as a sample and then add your own samples,beats etc onto different tracks.
The fruity demo doesn't allow save or rendering of your work.

So then whilst fruity is still on,open audacity,click record from wave and then press your fruity play button and record it live.
If you have any creative sound blaster card you wont even need audacity as fruity has its own recorder software which is better than audacity as its directly programmed to operate with your exact soundcard:blsmoke:
