What you can do to dry out your mushrooms also is to wrap them up in tinfoil or somthing non flammable. You can put a lot of mushrooms in here. Preheat your oven to about 20 - 30 degrees celcius. Dont know about farenheight. And stick it in the oven for the day. Checking on it every 3 - 4 hours. If this is done right your mushrooms will turn to dust at the end of the day. It will look a lot less than the mushrooms you first put in there but it will have just the same kick. With this you can easily put it in tea without worrying about gaging on a slimy stem. Or wrap it up in a skin and bomb it.

Check out shroomery.org that way of drying sounds like it would make them less potent, if i am correct heat degrades the active ingredient (i wasn't going to try and spell it).

Yeah, you right, it would make the mushrooms less potent. Psilocybin breaks down with heat, hence why it isn't commonly smoked. Its not hard to dry them, they should be good to go in two days, no point in wasting a couple of months work over 2 days.

Peace out x

Yep yep, thought so, i hear that stuff they use in packaging food it removes oxygen from the container. I hear them speak of using this in combination with a mesh screen over it and a container with good air flow....

Picture update.

The small pot has almost fully colonized, just two annoying little spots left. Out of the other two jars, one is colonizing much faster than the other one.

Peace out x

Good method of drying out mushy, and what I use everytime I harvest, is too heat your oven to the lowest setting(mine is 350F, i've seen some at 300F tho.) Take a cookie sheet and put a layer of moist pearlite on the bottom of the cookie sheet. Put the fresh mushy on that and let bake on middle rack with your over door half open until dry. It will make the mushy less potent but not by much at all. This is a good method if you have a lot of mushy. If not i'd just suggest eating them while they are fresh seeing as that is when they are most potent.

Good luck with fruiting

I'm just gonna cake it. This is my fist time so i will tackle cakes first. I have the two other jars so if i feel brave i will use casing for one of those.

Peace out x

Yeah, it does, he said it affects potency. If you have the time its better to wait. It only takes like, 2 days though, if your grown them fr so long its a shame not to make the most of them.

The other jars are coming along nicely, one must faster than the other. Good luck on your grow, make sure you post a link if you make a journal. Its much easier than i though to do (although i haven't finished yet!), as long as everything is clean and sterile your all good.

The difference between casing and cake is, casing is when you cut the cake into slices and put it in between two layer of, well, casing. It generally harder to do as your much more prone to infection but you will get a bigger yield.

Peace out x

As one from the UK too.. i must say well done! I'm jealous... I wnt one of 'em. I've been doing my own research and am not too far from starting too (actually, my flatmate is). This journal will help a lot to guide us through.

Anyways keep up the good work !
