Now THAT looks interesting. Are you putting it on a gravel tray or something just in case of leaks?

Nah it's fully sealed now, took it all apart and siliconed the shit out of all the joints so there's no chance of leaks.

Berry Bomb seedling, pressed her into the cube when she was born and snapped the stem with only a few cm of root left, replanted and she's growing slowly again... will keep an eye on her but shes now my experiment.

That's it, other than I finished making the drippers on the new hydro system ready for next grow, ran for 24 hours with a 10% bleach solution to kill the shit out of any bacteria etc cleaned, ran fresh water for a few hours to remove any excess bleach left over and cleaned again. Ready for July 4th (estimated harvest date @ rougly 11 weeks)

Thanks for stopping in, hopefully it'll look better in a week or so when it fills out some more :D

I was using a slow drip system combined with my dwc setup. My Ph was constantly dropping and algae kept growing in the tubes. I have since yanked the drip system and left the water pump for circulation and my ph is mostly constant (even after adding Fox farm big grow and tiger bloom) between reservior cleanings. For soil I don't see an issue but with dwc my experience is its better without.

Planning on covering everything that will be exposed to water and light so algae growth will be minimal :) mines also more like a waterfall system not a slow drip it pumps quite a bit of water into the root zone, gonna experiment with times, if it needs an on and off cycle etc, there should be enough oxygen in the water that it doesn't need an off time and I can run the 'drip' 24/7.

All of my buckets will be linked as well so will act as one large res which (if fish keeping is anything to go by) more volume = more stable environment. I'm not drip feeding with soil, just doing it by hand 'til this grow is over :)

Decided to take some pics of the finished waterfall DWC:

As for the ladies, the flowering girls are doing great, just plodding along with their 12/12 cycle.

The Sweet Deep Grapefruit is going strong and the Berry Bomb has recovered a bit and has shown her first true leaves, so she's coming back round :) Just need another 2 litre bottle to put her in for the rest of veg, that rockwool cube keeps drying out.

Other than that, I stuck my Sour Candy clone in flower and gave the Amnesia Lemon clone to a mate everything's going alright so far, touch wood XD

Until next time. Stay frosty!

hi mate
like the design
how much water are you going to use
if you use 60ltr and only veg till the roots hit the water in the system
it could work very well
veg any longer it could out grow the space you have.

Using about 20-25 litres, I'm vegging separately in a smaller hempy bucket, then transplanting into these. Might veg a bit more in the flower box under the 250w for a week or so to fill the screen up some more :)

OR

Veg them in the net pots over a kind of DWC type bucket/res then just move the net pots straight into the flower section.

Cheers, just posting to put this back in my recent posts and hopefully started threads section in my profile so I can find it again...

Your setup is looking good, very clean. I think the clear tubing I was using was the culprit. Water fall system on a timer is a good idea. Once I get a few grows under my belt I will look into building a better system.

Update!

Sorry it's been a while for those of you following... for the newcomers, thanks for stopping in, appreciate it :)

Right it's now week 3.5 of flower for the White Widow, Sour Candy and Amnesia Lemon:

The Berry Bomb unfortunately died :| what do you expect when you snap a seedling lol. Sweet Deep Grapefruit is going very well couple weeks veg now, can't be asked with taking a photo as I just put her into her new home and the door is a bitch to get off until I get/scavenge a handle...

Anyway I've been busy this weekend building some book shelves for the missus lol, little does she know I've constructed a secret grow room in them haha! XD It's in the old place I used to grow as it's so stealth! plus the environment is absolutely perfect! Also I managed to get an extra foot of length in there and an extra 3 inches of depth so it fits my new hydro system in it perfectly. The dimensions are now larger than the box I've recently built which I'll be selling to a friend once this crop has finished, all the while I'll be scrogging the SDG seedling and 2 of her clones (in the new system) ready to get the next flower cycle underway!

Anyway here's some pics of the stealth box during construction and on completion, just need some mylar and to fit the extraction once my flowering crop has finished!

yes i did that two, air line letting light in
i sow some slime in my bubble system so i emptied it, cleaned the tank out and used the shower on the root (was not gentle and lost 1/3 of the roots)
made sure the tank was light tight and cover 3" of the airline with tape that was going into the tank
but seem to recover well, no more slime
