Still expanding.20130302_131958.jpg.... Got some great ideas from my guy at the grow store, gonna run 2 tents on a flip box. 2x 3x3 trays top fed in 2-3 gallon smart pots. Gotta spend money to make money ;)

Ive been wanting a flip box for a while! just havent doubled up everything yet.

The other problem i would have would be getting to check on both of the tents. Id have to be there before the one shut off but not too early to make the wait for the other to come on be unbearable haha.

alot of hydro stores have random 20% discount days and if they see you enough theyll just give you the 20% off on most things.

thats how the ones around me play though.

probably because they up charge 50% so cutting it 20% will make them more business without losing much profit.

haha i love hydro stores and the guys who run them but you cant beat HTG when it comes to prices.

for real

love the guys in there

always talk about our different strains of "tomato" plants

But GOD DAMN im not paying over 5 for a digital ballast and hood and bulb.

Theyre perfect for pH calibration solution or rapid rooters or pots and timers

but when it comes to the expensive stuff that 25%-50% markup kills me!

Thats why HTG and there warehouses are my shit!

2 day shipping and i could break something that was completely my fault and theyll replace it if its less than a year old.

No questions asked of how it broke or anything. just pay the 5-10 bucks for return shipping and boom!

3 days later i got my new whatever i just broke haha

i think the hydro shop dudes around me think im a cop. they avoid everything about me, and i enjoy watching them act nervous. but ive spent bread at the hydro store only for them to fire the dude i was working with and giving me deals. now i order online(HTG woot!), hydro shop dudes be trying to sell to much shit they dont even know about. more often than not you can talk em down to whatever the minimal retail is on an item, so do some online price hunting an haggle with them, they will come down off thier high horse.

I'm a preferred customer at my shop...... Used to ride my 20" bmx bike 9 miles during the summer to pick up nutes lol. That was when the first opened a few years back
And I'm trading in my 2x4 tent and my T5 for a little more off..... I got several big orders I'm about to place ;) I'll be rocking big by July

trading in the T5? shit, fuck that, i love my t5s. never know when youll need a good light or tent. my advice is to keep that.

whatever they offer you ill give you 10$ more. :)
I was gonna put it on craigslist for $50 until dude said he needed one lol. But we can work something out ;) maybe towards that 5x5....then I'll pick up a 400w mh for Veg or something, use the T5 for clones in the top section of the twin tent

composition of the arc tube. CMH is good, but a 3-4k standard MH is comparable if not better. reason being, the regular Mh puts more off at the right peaks where as the the CMH put its all off broad spectrum but less intense. CMh is good for small spaces i wouldnt veg with it over a regular MH, would rather use it to flower but i think the MH is still better(flower or veg) because its more NM specific. CMH overrated tek and not new, same situation with induction lighting vs electrode florescent lights.

Haha.. the guy at one of my local hydro shops thinks I'm a cop too.. must be the short hair and boyish good looks :D

Q: I've been reading stuff on switching back to MH for the last few weeks of flower? Good idea? or stick with the HPS?

shit honestly id rather flower all the way with Mh anymore but the last 2 weeks? i dont think its really gonna make that much of a difference you should just add some blue in somehow for the whole period of flowering.

I dig what youre sayin but i use the bulb on the left not the right so maybe youre confused with the GE cmh and not the Phillips one?

GE uses a 3k and Phillips uses a 4K. Not much difference but in the spectrum chart you can see the difference.

And compared to the hortilux MH they look pretty similar?

The other reason ive liked them is that there total lumens, lumen loss %, and life is more towards the HPS side.

Even though i wouldnt be using any bulb past its prime. hahaha

ive always wanted to do a 600 hps and a 400 cmh in my flower box but havent had the time to rig that up.

using these charts is a touchy subject, but remember these are marketing tools and dont measure the actual intensity of the light mathematically according to these charts 400w CMH and MH blue put off more light than 400w HPS, which we both no is not true. use these charts to measure spectrum and the relative intensity of the different colors of light, from what im seeing they are all pretty much equal. in fact the GE CMH looks the best for flowering being much more red leaning.

i love light when i found weed i found my second passion with HID and fluoro tek. i love discussing them.

Thats what i figured.

Also the GE is on the right the Phillips was on the left.

The funny part is the two listed next to each other arent even marketed for growing. Theyre made for the insides of bulding and shit so you dont have the yellow tint hps puts off but dont have to replace them as often as MH due to the better %loss of the cmh

So i believe those more than the HORTILUXs' shit. even though theyre a local company. hahahaha

Either way ive just never messed with flouros except for cloning so theres no turning back now! :fire:

Thanks for the info though!!!
