Mother Plant Questions

I remember reading somewhere a good feeding schedule for Mother Plants. If I recall correctly there is a significant change in the feeding of her in the week or so leading up to taking your cuttings. Does anyone have this info they can pass along or post the thread that was discussing this? I am looking for the ability to take about 60 clones every 6 - 8 weeks.

Also, is there a good thread (with pictures) anyone can recommend on cloning procedures? I am looking for info on regular mother plants not bonsai, as I don't have any real size constraints. I found one post but it was on bonsai's and all the pictures were missing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have been searching for where I saw the info previously and I can't find it. I thought it said you hold back on a certain nutrient and it causes the plant to throw more shoots?

If anyone as heard of this before a little tutorial would be great, in the meantime I'll keep searching and post it if I find it.

I know that Fox Farms has a schedule for Mothers specifically.

What I have read, and what i do....I use AN's calculator for regular nutrients and it stays exactly the same all of the time until 2 days before taking cuttings... Then I just flush with 5.6 ph water for two days, I also make a weak foliar spray with jumpstart, which is advanced nutrients rooting nutrient...

Not sure on the thread for cloning, just try searching it i guess... I could search it and post but man I'm fukn high right now!! :bigjoint:

I'm sure you'll figure it out, just google how to clone marijuana, there's lots of good, easily accessible info on it...

I was planning to? Is there a reason I shouldn't?
well, yeah, it's a pain in the rump. i don't grow in soil, but if i was gonna keep mothers, i'd keep them in soil. much less time/effort involved. power outage, yikes!! you still have to deal with outages in soil, but all you're dealing with then is light pretty much. dwc, and you have immediate problems with the roots.

In about 3 - 6 months I am planning on switching the whole house to solar, power outages will not be a concern.

I keep my mother in a waterfarm dwc type system.. Uses hydroton rocks, seems to work great for me, she is growing like a weed and healthy as could be except for the spidermites i'm fighting...

I guess it really doesn't matter which setup you have, if you lose power for several days you're screwed regardless... But I have left my dripper and air pump turned off for 18 hours b4 and didnt have any plant problems...

At least doing it all in hydro you don't have to worry about diff nutes or anything.. JMO though, others I'm sure, do things differently...:peace:

i keep mothers and take clones from them when i want, and i dont change the feeding process on them at all and get a 90%clone rate,i use canadian express nutes a & b with superthrive, but if you want to take 60 odd clones i would say to pin your plants out so you getter a better spread and your clones you take will be more even and in the end you will get more clones. check out my thread for pics first page should show you what i mean about pinning out for more clones

ive had my mother in DWC for almost 4 months now. Ive taken 25 clones with 90% sucess . I randomly take clones also and do not change feeding. The best method for me is rockwool cubes with something like clonex. Soak the rockwool a little b4 hand with ph ed water. ull have roots in 2 -3 weeks

I was told early on that you could be without an air pump for as much as 24+ hours without a problem?

That is why I chose DWC, I figure air pumps are probably a little more reliable than water pumps.
