Most Efficient Use of Entire Plant?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

My girlfriend and I will have family visiting off/on over the course of several months in the near future, so I will probably have to take a 2-3 months break after harvesting my current three plants. I'm a first time grower, and whatever yield I get will be split between my girlfriend and me. This is my first grow, and for all I know the yield may not be that great.

Whether or not we get a low yield and have to conserve, I'm really just curious......If you had to make the absolute most efficient use of the entire plant to extract/use every last bit of THC, what would you recommend?

My girlfriend and I have only ever smoked straight weed...never cooked with it, smoked hash, or used a vaporizer. Before researching for growing, I didn't even know there was so much THC left on the trimmings, so just in that I already learned of another source other than the obvious bud. If you ignore personal preferences ("taste" or quality/type of high), what is simply the most efficient, least wasteful way of making the most use of every gram of THC on the plant? Thanks.

what i usually do is take all the nice buds and cure them in mason jars and then dry out all the leaf in paper grocery bags for a week or two then save all the trimmings and after everything is dry i use bubble bags and make hash which is just as good for the head as the bud and tastes great to in my opinion. the hash takes about 5-7 days to dry and i even let it go longer so make sure you got some good tops to smoke while its drying. you can take all the stems and some leaf if you want to and put them in a quart jar with 2 cubes of real butter and set the jar in a sauce pan with a few inces of water in it like a double boiler then lat it slow boil for an hr or so till you see the butter turn green then strain it through some cheese cloth and let it cool in the fridg then you can make cookies or brownies or whatever you use butter for. take a bottle of 120 proof vodka and dump it in a jar then fill with leaf/hash/stems/buds and let sit inthe jar for 2 weeks but shake it every day and keep it out of the light then you can cook with it like is wine or just drink it or you can make hard candy out of it. that is called tincture

Thanks. Like I said, I really didn't know you could use all the "other" parts, so now that I do, that's one of my biggest curiosities. I read elsewhere on here about using alcohol to extract out the THC from the rest of the plant, but I think the butter might be easier to use.
